It is time for SHEENS to go.

I am personally delighted with this outcome. Tim Sheens is one of the best coaches going around and he is here for another 3 years. The only downside is that I have to put up with Balmain Bug's incessant drivel for another 3 years too!

Think of his kids. 3 more years of BB waking them up to express his displeasure at Sheens being WT coach.

Looks like the players are jumping for joy after the Fonz has signed on !!!! The silence is deafening !!! They must be wrapped at the prospect of being coached for another 3 years by a 'Supercoach' who has made the Semis, twice in the last 15 years.

He is really up there with Wayne Bennett !!!

I have been following the tigers all my life and in my opinion Tims Sheens should become the joe paterno of Rugby League but with the tigers. This man gave us a premiership and has also made 1st graders out of 95% of our players. **If Sheens goes this team will break apart**. These guys play for the man, and we supporters need to realise when we critisise the coach we also critisize the players. Look at benji, Robbie, Chris H, Keith, Liam, Bryce, Chris L, Andrew, Dwyer, Woods etc etc etc **If we don't back our coach these players who he developed will go elsewhere as will our seniors.** 2 Million over 5years is peanuts give him 4 million for 8 years to see out the players he developed careers. This is a wise investment because good players will want to come here and play for the tigers and we will develop a winning culture. It is Imperative to keep Tim Sheens at the wests tigers

Well said Kronic I agree…. Go the Tigers...

How can you say ''well said"
Its basically all pure speculation based on nothing but an opinion…nothing but garbage from a vivid imagination

I for one and glad he's staying on…BUG you must admit you're in the minority here...also Sheens is nowhere near being **up there with Bennett**...Bennetts on $1.5M /year Sheens is on just over $400k!.

and what have you got to base this fear mongering on?

who also get criticized at times, what's the problem?

If say we had been in the finals in every previous year after '05, you might have had a point, but even then….8 years?

1 finals appearance in 5 years since the GF and we are still developing a winning culture?

Hes better actually how many teams has bennett coached and built from ground up look at the very first side the broncos put on the park.If this bennett is so good and needs a challenge why didnt he go for souths.

He went to newcastle for the money the guys all about himself.

Colin Scott; Joe Kilroy, Chris Johns, Gene Miles, Michael Hancock; Wally Lewis ©, Allan Langer; Terry Matterson, Brett Le Man, Keith Gee, Greg Dowling, Greg Conescu, Bryan Niebling

12 STATE OF ORIGIN PLAYERS IN THAT TEAM AND THEY WERE UNDER THE CAP......PLEASE

Teams that dont cheat the cap can generally only afford 3 or 4 top class players in their roster.

I dont know why im bothering explaining this for the 100th time.

Totally understand what you're saying and 100% agreed. If Tim coached the Broncos during the same time Wayne Bennett had them I guarantee he wins more comps than Bennett hands down. Look at what he racked up in the short amount of time he was in Canberra.

Wasn't the salary cap introduced in 1990? 3 of those players that played SOS finished playing for the Broncos prior to 1990 and Terry Matterson only played 1 game for NSW.

Don't know how much players would have been payed back then though.

Yeah but we will get yeah but canberra were over the cap….They were for the year 1990 but it was a minor offence and they let go of players after that and were watched like a hawk by the arl after that ....JUST LIKE MELBOURNE WOULD BE THIS YEAR .

Dave we know when it was introduced 1990 but the point is they would have been and when your making comparisons with another coach you have to put things in perspective an compare apples with apples.

Wayne Bennett had a monopoly on the QLD SOO players at his disposal at the Broncos since day dot. It took him 4 years to win his first comp and 9 years to catch up to the amount of grand finals Tim Sheens won in his first 6 years at Canberra.

Any state of origin player would have been on good money back then regardless.

The point is dave seen as though you dont get it is bennett has always had teams full of origin players to work with and 1 whole state of juniors to work with.Illawarra region now isnt bad either and he did bring players with him to dragons and all of a sudden when bennett coaching they can afford to get better players and gasnier and still be under the cap…..yeah right

no I get the point people are trying to make, but what needs to happen is maybe some actual evidence of what players were being paid….sure we can say "oh they must have been over the cap" we can say it and it would look likely, but that doesn't make it necessarily true without real confirmation.

Yeah true but isnt the whole forum like that.If you play origin you stick your hand out for more money they all do it.Start looking for a needle in a hay stack then dave.

Im not the one that brings up what sheens has acheieved cause i dont care really because every expert in the game and ex and current players all say hes one of the best.

Glenn Lazarus, Brent Todd, David Barnhill, Nigel Gaffey and Paul Martin-all those players left after canberra got caught how many players ever left brisbane during that time?

They still won a comp in 94 after all those players leaving.

The whole forum? no I don't think so, certainly things are said without any actual evidence to back them up, but I wouldn't say the whole forum.

Again, you could say that and you would expect that to happen, but without actually knowing, it's still all supposition.

I think he did a fantastic job for us when he came on board, I don't think anyone in their right mind can dispute that. However, since '05 things haven't kicked on as expected. '06 was a right off due to injury and some of the worst ref decisions you'll see, but the team selections during '07-'09 and now again in '11 have left many to question Sheens' recent ability to coach. Still one of the best? yeah past record certainly suggests that, up there with Bennett? that's up for debate, which is why he was brought up earlier by Bug.

And the Raiders still managed to have 8 SOS players in that side (although 2 became SOS players that year) and 2 Kiwi internationals.

I'm sure plenty of star studded teams over the years have managed to get away with rorting the cap.
