…..and we cant seem to do it.

Look at Manly. Their forward pack dominate. I hate to say it (as I hate Manly) but they have great line speed in attack, run the ball hard into the defence, play the ball quickly, dominate their opposition and make many metres. It gives their inexperienced halves room to move and set up the backs.

It reminds me of a set of large waves during a storm. Just wave after wave crashing through. It is relentless. Compared to WT, we have an occassional big set, but are flat in between.

Why cant we do it? Is it attitude, it is coaching, is it physical? Look at the packs:

Lock: Heighno vs. Stewart
2R: Ellis vs. Watmough
2R: Dwyer vs. Galuvau
P: Galloway vs. King
H: Farah vs. Balin
P: Fifita vs. Rose

Bench: Woods/Fulton/BMM/Gibbs vs. Buhrer/Mauro/Robinson/Williams

I would take the Wests player in every position, so why cant we dominate like them. Why do we run one-out at half pace, brace before the line, go sideways etc. We need room for Benji and Lui to really dominate.

Thoughts?

If you are talking ball running Sorry but Watmough is far better tha Ellis . Ellis is a better overall player

I think it is very clear that we are coached to submit in tackles to try and get a quick play the ball. This has been happening for years and has not changed.

Manly are a really solid team.
Keiran Foran is THE BEST ( or close to it ) player in the NRL.
Ballin is backup for Cameron Smith in SOO.
Just rly strong all over the park, even if some of their players are quite average (Wolfman).

exactly

I guess alot of it is tactics.

We dont need guys running into the markers its stupid. We dont need to go 2 passes wide for an inside ball to a prop. We really should just be going one run off the ruck.

Our forwards really struggle to run onto the ball. Have a look at Costigan and Faooso last night, they were the most effective forwards on the field, there hitups had alot of venom in them.

We run back at the markers for the first 3 plays to try and compress the deffence and then spin it wide, teams are awake to us they know the lines we run and get numbers in the tackles and slow down our play the balls. We have gone from attack specialists to predictable I also think Benji looked much better with a natural center. I wish Tuqiri was fit because we create alot of half chances just need some one to go on with it. Wouldnt mind having that manly winger Tony wiliams rekon he would go great for us on the wing.
