…..and we cant seem to do it.
Look at Manly. Their forward pack dominate. I hate to say it (as I hate Manly) but they have great line speed in attack, run the ball hard into the defence, play the ball quickly, dominate their opposition and make many metres. It gives their inexperienced halves room to move and set up the backs.
It reminds me of a set of large waves during a storm. Just wave after wave crashing through. It is relentless. Compared to WT, we have an occassional big set, but are flat in between.
Why cant we do it? Is it attitude, it is coaching, is it physical? Look at the packs:
Lock: Heighno vs. Stewart
2R: Ellis vs. Watmough
2R: Dwyer vs. Galuvau
P: Galloway vs. King
H: Farah vs. Balin
P: Fifita vs. Rose
Bench: Woods/Fulton/BMM/Gibbs vs. Buhrer/Mauro/Robinson/Williams
I would take the Wests player in every position, so why cant we dominate like them. Why do we run one-out at half pace, brace before the line, go sideways etc. We need room for Benji and Lui to really dominate.
Thoughts?
