Haha, would suggest taking the advice of a teenager over here …

Stick to your studies, you're still too young for girls!

They will come along nicely in Uni

and definitely don't cyber bully!

Who needs uni when you have TAFE

Smart people…....or arts students.

Or people who want to work with Animals e.g. Me

Just a joke aimed at art students mate e.g. me. Didn't mean to offend. I respect people who follow their passions and are able to make a career out of it. But, seriously though I started uni thinking everyone would be really switched on and intelligent but, most of them are really just of average (if not less than) intelligence and pretty lazy.

This thread was hilarious!
Happy birthday little buddy.

Milky, strong virgin advice lol wait to uni to meet girls ?
Lol nooooo.

Ben don't take any advice re girls from people on here, most of them are old and wouldn't know what to do with a 21st century teenage girl.

Just be yourself and respect them, no cyberbullying nonsense.

TAFE's where it's at.

The skills shortage is ridiculous. You can earn stupid money in the trades after four years of hard yakka and crap pay.

Each to their own though. A lot of emphasis seems to be placed on going to university these days when some are just not suited for it.

On the ladies, avoid stage 5 clingers like the plague.

Hope you had a great birthday yesterday Ben, make every day a winner mate. As for the girlies, don't use NRL players as your examples!…..except for perhaps Cooper Cronk, he has fairdinkum won the lottery that bloke.

I have a question for you Ben - what is it like to have started following Wests Tigers only since the merger?

So many people here have a Magpies or Balmain back-story, not that they aren't passionate WT fans, but there's always those old memories about the original clubs.

What is it like to have no memories of the old clubs, just WT? You would not even remember the 2005 GF, which although a long time ago now I still remember VERY clearly.

Last time this team was any good 2011 you were barely in primary school.

If Cronk won the lottery ..Trent Merrin won the Universe…

3 Sally Fitzgibbons, you say? Tell me more. What are they wearing?

Hey Ben,
My dad organised something like this for me many moons ago at leichhardt oval.
I was finally going to meet all my heroes from the Tigers especially Gary Jack and Scott Gale.
We were to meet my dads friend at the fence near the entrance to where they run out at the end of the game so he could take me into the sheds, and sure enough the guy was there waiting at the end of the game. He said to me jump the fence and lets go meet them and…..........I CHICKENED OUT!
I was a bit shy back then and didn't go through with it. I regret that now many years later. :frowning:
I did get a signed poster from the whole team though, so that was pretty cool.
So you make sure you go and meet all the boys and have no regrets when you get older.
Happy Birthday.

Well, all of my dad's side of the family have always supported the tigers (magpies before the merge).
I hate admitting this but once I started learning about rugby league I supported the Broncos :bawling because I thought they were the best. When dad took me to my first game of rugby league ever, rd 23 2011 tigers v panthers, I remember just cheering as loud as I could and saying things that I didn't even know the meaning of. That night when the tigers won I think is the moment when I became a tiger, at that age I was 7 years old in Year 1\. So from then on, I started following the tigers and we became members in 2012\. So I have never really known anything else other than the tigers and we kept going to tigers matches and I became more and more interested in rugby league. So know I have tigers posters hanging up all over my room, tigers stickers all over my door along with a signing hat, black & white bed sheets with a tiger striped blanket not to mention a whole wardrobe filled with tigers merch. And that is only the beginning.
I support the tigers because I have tiger blood in me. I should probably have a better reason than that but honestly, as soon as I support another club they will probably win the wooden spoon. I will support the tigers through thick or thin because I know that there will be a time when we will be the best team. I was only starting to understand rugby league in 2011 so I can't really recall the tigers too much. So all I know is the tigers since 2012 and so I have nothing to compare the current tigers against, so at the moment in my mind, they are a good tigers team because I have never had major success.

Also, how was the merge?
Did some supporters drop off?
Did any particular club suffer more than the other?
Were fans angry or upset?

Just curious, do you know of Payten, Marshall, Hodgson, Tuiaki and Skandalis? These are guys I remember when I started supporting the Tigers.

Happy Birthday mate. Keep pranking the girls but make it clever and funny, not nasty. Girls love a guy who makes them laugh.

 , bang on Russta….you nail this department and they want a piece of you
( at our Age anyway Russta ) .
13 is a bit on the youngish side , just have fun and don't worry about girls that play hard to get as they enjoy the attention at this age....move on to the next one as it's all about experimenting at this age.
All i will say is treat girls with respect and you won't have a problem .

I bloody had a ball between 13-15 years of Age  , i never forget these 2 girls in year 6 we went Camping and these 2 girls were fighting over who was going to sit next to me on the Bus while my Maths teacher was laughing and winking at me

 Hahahahaha I bet you had girls fighting over you mate. You should've said "Girls girls, don't fight. Sit one either side"

That is exactly what happened  i was stuck in the middle of both of them , but i did hook up with one of them in year 8 for a little while . High School was a blast .

Dale and yourself would of had the chicks lining up for your services

Mate, sounds like we've got some very interesting stories to swap. Can't wait to catch up Tigers/titans game. :righton:

Hahahaha None of mine Geo.That wouldn't be a fun reunion. :frowning: But it'll be a great night for Wills birthday.

Hope you had a great birthday young fella.
Keep supporting the team - although you'll have a plenty of down times the good ones make up for them.
I turned 13 before the 1969 season and was a crazy Balmain supporter.
I started a scrapbook that year with newspaper clippings of all the results and stories about the Tigers.
Turned out we won the comp and still have the memories of our journey .
Lots of great times ahead for you … in regards to all the advice about women it's always best to be yourself.

It's the only reason you need. It's the reason I support Tigers, from the area, my Dad before me, his Dad, all the way back Leichhardt boys.

Merge was weird, mostly good because Balmain and Maggies had done it tough, it seemed like a good fit. I was happy it was Wests, one of the only real teams I had a soft spot for.

Some supporters drop? Probably… everyone I knew from Balmain was on board, and we had Wests people join us, so overall it got bigger. I got the impression some people weren't sure about the merger but came back to the club fairly quickly. For others it just took a while to get used to the new team name.

I don't think either club suffered, was a 50/50 partnership, hence why Balmain and Wests chose each other, rather than Dogs or Eels. There was, at one time, some chance it would be Parramatta Tigers. Yuck. Nowadays Wests have the upper hand but I'm not fussed, Balmain's business went under through bad luck and bad dealings, our Wests brothers propped us up, that's the whole point of the merger, to take on the big bastards like Broncos and Roosters.

Fans angry? Hell yes, some people to this day can't accept the merger. Too bad for them, it's happened anyway.

Actually it is weird you've made me think about it, but I seriously started supporting the Tigers in 1986, so from 86-99\. That's only 13 years, so I've been a WT supported for longer than I supported Balmain. But Balmain will always hold that special place in my memory, that golden age of 80s football, games at Leichhardt every two weeks, walking down from my Grandfather's house. Good times.

I can remember your enthusiasm from when I was 13 too, but that was 40 years ago.
This period will form the basis for your love of the game, its clear the seed is already planted and it will grow in you…my best (and worst) memories of from what youre experiencing now.

Our team is changing drastically, its exciting...youre in for a ride and a lifetime of memories are just around the corner
