It's time to take the fight back to HBG

We will do what we can on Wests Tigers Podcast to support change.

Absolute first priority is the reinstatement of a wholly independent board that is populated by skilled individuals.

If this was to occur, and the HBG stayed out of decisions made for the best outcomes of Wests Tigers, then all this noise would go away.

The trouble is, when WT starts to go ahead, certain HBG parties feel control slipping through their sticky little fingers and their egos get bruised.

it affects the Blazers of the debenture holders and the free lunches
Plus too much damn orange in that jersey.
Nothing like Lidcombe Oval for that mob

The Wests Tigers need that independent Board

Any ideas how we can affect change this time around?

It seemed to me like that WTs United thing just fizzled out once the seasons started

I think, as much as there was intense disappointment at the decisions made by HBG, there was some degree of leaving it alone to not be a distraction from the football.

It is also a lot of work and energy trying to coordinate some form of strategic protest movement, especially among a group of individuals who are all fans, but also have different platforms (such as podcasts). We all only have so much to give.

If permanent change is going to happen there has to be a united strategic direction and approach, but getting that is often easier said than done.

Surely if V Landys is serious about 'growing the game' he would want to see genuine teams in his growing competition. WT is an 'almost' team; almost enough 1st grade level players to field a team, almost enough reserve graders to cover for injuries, almost enough money to develop up and coming juniors, almost enough staff to manage all that.
The one thing we have heaps of is supporters, and that might be part of the problem. V Landys looks at the fan base and says 'they're doing fine'. Maybe we have to reinstate a 'fan based' public push for change.

I think it's important to highlight that it's not personal and it has nothing to do with the debunture holders. The individuals whether it be at WT or HBG aren't to blame.

The debunture system seems to be quite effective at running a Leagues Club but not a Football Club.

The issue is the system and simply a Football Club regardless of having an independent board cannot run off a debunture system because the people within every part of the organisation need to be qualified within the field.

💯
Becomes personal though when they put their own interests ahead of WTs success

Everyone puts their own interests above others'. That's human nature.

A system allowing people to do that, or a system where everyone in the organisation doesn't have the same goal is a broken system.

I think everyone wants to paint HBG or Luai or Galvin etc as these big villains. In case of HBG, they are incompetent and our constitution, our systems have allowed them to be in- charge.

The only thing that stands out is that positive things were happening around Wests Tigers under the independent board and CEO. Smart people doing smart things in the best interests of Wests Tigers. It would apppear that HBG does not always have the best interests of Wests Tigers in its decision making.
