Yeah I'm not so sure …Came across as covering to me...like we made the wrong right decision....or was it the right wrong decision...

Anyway it looks like they are learning with the appointment of Cleary...

I get that with the comment about Taylor but the comment about Farah - that they couldn't come out publicly because anything they said would be construed negatively - seems very frank and genuine.

Obviously a very smart woman, whether or not she knows football.

Very impressed with Cleary's early comments.

We are bigger than any individuals and no one is irreplaceable. So true, look at the Raiders 3 years ago and where they are now.

I agree with much of what of what is in the article except the part of Taylor being the right coach.At his previous clubs he was divisive and continued that here.
This time i feel the board has got it right and i do look to a far better future.Brooks has reportedly decided to be part of that future and i believe Woods and Tedesco will too

Taylor was put in as head coach to do a job get rid of RF and stay long enough until the cap problem was sorted out.

It's an interesting article, they clearly organised to speak together with Chammas and get their story straight. It plays out fairly well, they admit mistakes and having handled some things poorly, but also counter that there are public perceptions that just aren't a true reflection of the private side of the club.

I like Marina's line about Cleary "wanting to find out if I was a moron or not, from what he read in the press he might have thought I was." Interesting to hear that, that she is aware of some perception of her as lacking the specific skills to be involved in a football club. I'm not one to ever say that myself, I don't know the woman and honestly I barely know the qualifications you need to have to be a club Chairperson. She's not terrific in press conferences but really what does that matter? Brad Fittler was at one time both the best footballer and biggest gibberer going around, you can still do your job.

I think they are playing all of this better in the media though. There's been so much frenzy over the Tigers in recent seasons, I don't get why, so many things just catch fire and go around and around, for such a mediocre team without that much star power. I suppose some big personalities and there has always been a tendency for big-name players or managers to drag the club through the media to achieve their end-goal. You know, Corey Parker didn't want to retire from Broncos and he didn't want to leave, but there wasn't a whole palava about it, Broncos told him he would not be re-signed and he copped it without the media circus.

I suppose that's so much of what's disappointing some fans, players referring to the media circus going on right now, not really realising they are the primary reason it is occurring.

So I feel I am noticing a bit of a change of tactic from the club: more public comments and not just leaving the head coach to do all the talking. Ivan is a good speaker, but also Kelly Egan's become conspicuous just recently and Marina + Pascoe are appearing in tandem. Very much trying to put across the idea of managerial unity, everyone saying their bit to build up the club position. For example, first time I believe they've made public self-evaluation about how they handled the Farah situation.

Some good lines from Cleary, and I think he will ultimately be successful here. But its going to be a long haul and the next season or two are not likely to be very successful. We are looking at 2 years minimum to turn this ship around.

I really doubt getting rid of Robbie was the reason he was hired but there is no doubt it was the outcome

Realistically, this year and next will be laying the foundations for the years to follow - how many times have we had to go through this process?
The difference this time however, is a salary cap in good shape and a coach who appears to be (genuinly) the right man for the job.

Im not convinced it will take that long. The space we have in our cap is going to give Ivan the ability to make good acquisitions quickly.

Despite our horrible start to the year. This squad was still 1 game shy of the finals last year and that was with Teddy missing for a long stretch.

Ivan Justin and marina are all on same page and leading this team. We are a team that is goen but not out. Love the line - the star of the team is the team.

You have to remember this IS NOT the same board that led us into this position. It IS NOT the same CEO that got us into this position. It IS NOT the same coach that let us be in this position.

This is the rebirth and last week may be a week remembered by everyone in 50 years as the time we grew up.
