"I was disillusioned when the Wests Tigers couldn't find a spot for him," Fittler said of Papenhuyzen. "There were a few [decisions] there where whatever they did during that period, it was just wrong.

"So someone got it wrong, whoever is was, and I don't care.

I am so sick and tired of the media constantly bashing the WT over the lose of JAC and Paps.....we stuffed up I agree but let’s ALL move on!

The obsession with putting down the tigers is just so bewildering. We are so bad that all the people I know that don’t go for tigers have us as their second team. We don’t make semis. What is the obsession all about?

Hey Freddy,

You forgot to mention that storm were shopping paps to every club in the Comp without success at the start of the season.

Seriously Freddy, stick to the mung beans and yoga mate. You have already proven you can't run a club team top to bottom.
Just concentrate on picking the 30 best players for 3 games a year. No salary cap etc to worry about.

Seriously, he is becoming Gus Jr.

This dinkle is starting to give me the irrits. Might be time to stop watching 9 all together.

I stopped watching channel 9 years ago.
I had to watch the GF and was amazed at how irritating and obnoxious he has become.

Best part about him coaching SOO is he can't commentate the games

Hey Freddy,

You forgot to mention that storm were shopping paps to every club in the Comp without success at the start of the season.

You also forgot that ado car was a South's junior, moved to the sharks, then was given his debut by the tigers. He was offered a contract by the tigers to stay. Was not "let" go

Tedesco was also offered a huge contract to stay, but he chose to jump onto a successful team rather than try to build one.

Nathan Brown was let go, but has bounced around a few clubs and only now selected for reps. And he is in the squad at this stage, he has hardly been a main stay for rep teams since he left the tigers.

How was fittlers retention, recruitment and development when he was coach of the roosters? He didn't last very long at the club that doesn't develop, only buys players.

You just answered your own questions. We are a popular club throughout the NRL, The "success" of an article published is measured solely and immediately in clicks, number of eyeballs that have seen it because that is what they then sell to advertisers to scratch whatever meagre revenue they still get. Tigers articles get clicks.

Apparently JAC’s manager thinks he’s worth $800k.

You know what - I would say we will give you 700k 2021 and if you make FB your spot next year we will increase to 800k after that.. That way we would have Reynolds & Packer off the books and Mbye the year after.

What!? That’s Josh Reynolds type money. Crazy.

For another $150k we could get Mbye

That extra $150k gets you the most respected captain in the NRL. What a player. What a man.

So Dogs just announced Former All Blacks coach as a High Performance Consultant.... Gee wiz Barrett is on fire and not holding back.. I was holding out hope we would still get JAC but I have no hope left now that we get him and its either the Dogs or Souths unfortunately..
We need something to change urgently as the media are only going to get stronger on us moving forward and make it even harder to recruit the quality ones.

***I am seriously at a loss of what's going on with the club....
We have never been this quite*** so either we have got rid of the leaks and announcements are coming or they are packing there desks up and moving on out the back door...
I love this club but I say increase our JAC offer and give us fans something to be excited about because we have sure earned it over the last 10 years..

Tigers fans: Hasnt this club learned anything from the Latrell fiasco where they played the whole thing out in the media and made us a laughing stock?

Also Tigers Fans: Why arent we hearing anything from the club about the negotiations with JAC? Why wont they tell us something? ANYTHING! Why are we reading more in the media?

Takes 15 minutes to put together a press release.

WestsTigers were extremely disappointed that the NSW coach found it appropriate to once again drag our club into the media spotlight over some retention decisions that took place over 3 years ago. Wests Tigers and 13 other NRL clubs have been consistently pillaged by the Melbourne Storm, a club that has no juniors and systematically cheated the salary cap for a number of years and were ultimately stripped of premierships. They are proven cheats. While the Sydney Rorters (sic) have never been found guilty of cheating, it is the worst kept secret in rugby league that their Chairman is a powerful figure in the game, it’s no surprise he is able to attract premiere talent. Losing players to these clubs will continue, the media should not take joy in this sad aspect of our game.

Appears to be a few positive pollyannas on here. And that’s ok, but at least come up with some honest disclosure for your attitude.
We hear nothing from the club, I suppose because they have nothing. How about those pollyannas stop ***trying to ridicule fans who are simply hanging out for some good news,*** asking to be swayed by some tiny indication that the club has decided to develop as a professional organisation.

Im not a positive pollyanna, Im as disappointed as anyone else with our lack of success, but it doesnt get in the way of the truth for me.

As you said, we have heard NOTHING from the club at all in regards to JAC negotiations. After the Latrell experience, I would think everyone would welcome that.

But in the absence of news from the club, the ***negative nellies*** here simply make stuff up and that is not helpful in a discussion. I have read here that management has "fumbled" the JAC discussion (despite the fact we ahve heard nothing and know nothing), we are a laughing stock (despite the fact that Souffs and Bulldogs are in the same boat as us and many more imagined woes that have no basis in truth.

Myself and many others here have pointed out that significantly increased revenue, stabilised board structure, elimination of debt, increases year on year for membership, massive increases in sponsorship, appointing sponsor as chairman, Appointing twin premiership winning coach, cutting deadwood from coaching staff, establishment of the COE, signing Aus Schoolboys half and hooker, getting the Grant loan over the line, picking players on form and dropping high profile players regardless of profile and paypacket. signing of Tamou, LL, Blore, Stef, Douiehi.......are ALL very positive indications of the direction we are going, but you would be excused for not hearing it over the WHAAAAAAA WHAAAAAA WHAAAAAA

He forgets he coached the Roosters to a spoon. Made so many good decisions that season.

He might not care, thats the media's standard response to our team. Never seen them call out the coach who made the decision, just blame the club as a whole.

We now at least have a coach who makes better decisions.

Better decisions than Fitler ever made thats for sure.

His ego is out of control.

Ive been over Origin for a number of years. QLD's dominance ruined it for me but i really hope these Queensland no names destroy him and his arrogance.

Barrett is a huge fan of Addo-Carr.
**All negotiations have been delayed given Addo-Carr will be in NSW camp for the next four weeks.**

OMG @mike !!

Another 28 days of:
He’s definitely coming
He’s definitely signed by the Wabbits
He’s definitely signed by the Bulldogs

With every permutation in between.
Hilarious.

I actually think it will be resolved before origin.

I'm not sure when the new financial year starts due to covid, but in years past it was Nov 1st. Melbourne won't want to pay him knowing he is leaving.

And if I was advising him, I would say lock in a long term deal before you play another game.

Imagine he does an acl in game 1? All clubs would withdraw or revise their offers and he will be stuck in Melbourne for rehab on his "unders" contract for 2021.

It is a stupid business decision to keep holding off.

This is a very good point, atm he does have the Melbourne contract as protection, but I wouldn't be surprised if Melbourne release him on Saturday so he doesn't impact their 2021 cap. Like we did with Matterson last year. If that happens her would be better to have a contract signed by next Wednesday night.

Exactly like we did with Matterson. Why contribute pay to a bloke leaving.

And as for risking injury with a long term contract, it didn't work out well for Dak Prescott
