My guess, the young kid Souths were throwing a zillion dollars at will go to rugby and his money will go to JAC. Although you would think twice before heading to Redfern at present

Why would any prospect head to union the code is busted and has no money , internationally would be the only place that could compete with league on a financial basis !

Maybe he's not overly keen to travel to Penrith and Parramatta??? Can't blame the guy.

Why would you if you’re a player ? They have a culture of protecting the players , from everything . Whether that’s good for them as general human beings , well that’s debatable, but as an athlete in an ever shrinking bubble , that has to be a consideration. If I was a player , when I was 21 , and I heard that was the culture there , I would have looked very closely , especially when the club I love , leaks like a Sieve, whenever there’s stormy waters.
You have to think like a 20 something dude with no accountability for thier actions. That’s the way they think. They’re not looking for betterment as a person , they’re looking for ways to get away with stuff . They’ll inevitably regret that when they’re 40 odd. Try and advise they young 20 year olds , and get told to get lost LOL rinse repeat.

Watching JAC tonight and his speed is just brillant..
I ****really really**** hope we get him as his defence has improved, he is a lot better under the high ball and his game awareness seems to be improved also. He is popping up all over the place and if he was a fullback I can see him hanging off the halves and making slim chances into tries... Tigers please make this happen.

Although if Nofo had of rushed in and allowed that Fergo try we would crucify him.

Roberts on the way out
Oh no look
Josh we have a spot for you
The money saved (Apparently) on Johnston and money from Roberts just happens to be enough to sign JAC
See it all works out in the end
Johnston will just be a cheap back up
Talk about pulling a Rabbit out of the Hat

Lol, a 400k backup winger? AJ is starting for them.
Do they have any takers for Roberts or Gagai at full price? Have they released Suaali?

They will medically retire Ethan Lowe if that helps

I think medical retirements might be a lot harder to get these days after the Ingliss/Burgess fiasco. Although i noticed an article in the DT about Packer being sent home from Parra game by the club Dr because he was suffering from severe headaches. Will be going for neurological tests if they persist. Dr says it is worrying as he has had a lot of head knocks in the past but this is the first time they have caused trouble. Says he doesn't think at this stage that it would require an early retirement. Maybe we have caught on how the game is played and are just starting to sow a few seeds.

I;m not saying they are not true - i'm sure they are. Just funny that the Dr would even mention that at this stage doesn't look like an early retirement is necessary. Why even say that unless you just wanted to put that out there.

I'm warming to JAC at fullback. Definitely saw some good fullback traits last night, good leap for bombs, chiming in the middle and backing up everywhere.

Hopefully we get the deal done.

I have been a bit blasé until now about JAC coming to us (maybe part of me didn’t want to be disappointed if it didn’t eventuate), but watching him play last night drove home the obvious gap between a team like the Storm and WTs. They are simply packed with match winners- there’s like 10 guys that can turn the game at any moment and added to that are some soldiers that work their butts off in every play. It’s not rocket science really. Compete on everything, work hard, tackle hard, run hard and let your talented guys win the game for you. Where Bellamy comes in is he gets them doing that every week.
So big problem for us (in it’s simplistic form) is we just don’t have many (or any really) of those match winner guys. Hence the need for JAC as a start and then either keep collecting them or developing our young guys to become them. Until we get at least a few of those guys we just can’t compete consistently.

You wouldn't blame Abdo for being cautious about any medical retirements.

It is Souths though so anything could happen... And normally does

Hopefully Souths will be under more scrutiny now after reports of the Sam Burgess debacle
Surely they can't keep on sweeping these actions Souths have done under the rug
It was a clear cover up by Souths
The Nrl was made to look inadequate
Souths need to be punished by way of cap and fines
Anything less will show clear bias towards souths

Let's us now compare the Robbie Farah fine we received for our clubs failings, to what Souths have done to hide their actions in regard to Sam Burgess
Let that sink in a bit

Stand the Souths Ceo down
Fine them for bringing the game into disrepute
Reduce their cap over the next two years

Let's see if the Nrl has balls or if the people running it are out of their depth

Probably because he was close to medical retirement early in the year because of his foot. Glasby retired due to concussion not long ago too

it's also a bit more of a concern than a foot or shoulder injury and the nrl need to act on this....not specifically Packer but the concussion situation and it's long term affects as a whole. I'm not saying they aren't, but they will walk a fine line.

Why muck around - the NRL want to reduce Sydney teams - **kick them out.**

Oh! that's right "Pride of the League" - maybe they should start acting like it, they
have been doing dodgy things since 1909.

You could only hazard a guess what they would have in store for us if we did this.

Agree 100% .... If we got the punishment for Farah by offering him a job after he RETIRES this is like 10+ times worse and they were hiding it... If that was us you can bet we would be kicked out of the comp.

Good to see a few more fans coming around to jac at fullback. The dude is exactly what we need and had been since we started talking about him. We don't really need a ball playing full back. We need pace and some one to be there when we make a break. The dude sniffs around the middle heaps and adds a 3nd player teams need to worry about

Interesting that two people on here with family connections to JAC are both definite he is coming to WT.

It’s a good sign for sure.

I have heard from another source that he's coming to WT'S waiting until Storms season is over.

Fingers crossed, but in this game, JAC could well be 100% going to sign with us, then could change his mind right at the last second before it happens.
