Jackson Hastings #251

I agree with AD in the Centres so long as Brooks keeps his mojo.

All three at optimum it’s a potent attacking backline because they can all run, pass and kick.

Brooks look a lot more composed today, Hastings was unbelievable.

Best of all was the resilience and effort from the boys. Can’t remember seeing that for ages.

Try assist pin point kick over the top hits noffa on the chest. Brooks and madden take note.

After brooks misses his conversions, Hastings puts it over the dot from the sideline.

There was a play where he must of touched it 4-5 times and we still went backwards because there was no support. Just kept showing up.

Not long after late in the match, following his horrible option kicking it dead he fronts up and kicks a long field goal to win the match.

Knows how to win. I won’t forget this one for a while.

Anybody else see the article by Andrew Johns slagging the the Tigers saying Brooks shift to 6 was a demotion? What a crock of crap from a great player that knows better than that! As a lot of us have said letting Jacko control the game & letting Books just run is the key. Clearly , Johns sees the potential in Brooks & wants him at Newcastle.

I’m happy for him personally, bit of a weight off his shoulders as he re-emerges in the NRL.

Then the match winner at the death against one of the best sides in the comp.

It’s like he doesn’t have to prove his value on paper to anyone anymore.

There was some residual doubt that he wasn’t going to cut it.

I know one fly doesn’t make a summer, long season, but it’s a gotta be a bloody good start in his preferred position.

And the clubs he went through as a feisty and troubled youngster, they would been taken aback and surprised.

I’m pretty sure he was a Hartigan recruit, but we worked over months and months to get him.

Finally, how good was it for him to play a pivotal role in a wrecking their 75th with all their old boys and carry on.

Who wouldn’t want to kick that field goal and break their hearts?

All these eels fans turned up to see us get flogged senseless, like slowing down at a car accident to enjoy the injured or something bad like that.

They only allowed a few Wests Tigers fans in, it was otherwise invite only.

It was Eels-fest city. Like Draculas at a blood bank.

But Hastings, Madge and the boys owned them. Brooksy smashed the cat and that scrum win.

Who wanted to win more? Hold the fone!!

Even King Gutho got all heroic and played the mighty marquee hero against our struggling kid fullback. Lol.

And of course, how they are the only club the Storm afraid of! They keep boring everyone with that claim, all the time….

Yet….

Owned!!

The eels are our [This word has been automatically removed]!

I think Joey Johns is pretty drug busted. His commentary contributions are centered around comedy...i.e. XXXX is a crap beer, that bloke has a good rig, that young guy's talent is scary etc...
He doesn't form coherent analytical passages of thought too regularly. I think he gets shown up on the channel nine coverage by the QLD boys and Freddy quite often as well. He seems to be edging down the path Sterlo went for a while...critical for the sake of it.

I think in a winning team Roberts will be good. I also like Toa.

Deouehi to lock!

A lot of people said he was too slow, and we were delusional for thinking he could be an NRL standard halfback. It was also suggested he’d be a bad influence on the team.

It’s only 1 week but he’s shown he’s up to it, and his teammates seem to love him.

I tell you who surprised me with his pace and that was Toa. There was a point in the game we’re he chased a player back from a line break and looked pretty quick.

Jamie Lyon? Demps come on. Lyon had speed! He was a sublime hole runner. Completely different. Maybe closer to some like Shaun Timmins.
AD is a long way short of Lyon in both skill and speed, Hopefully when he gets back on the field he can produce some consistency and develop his game,
