THats where you are wrong…..this is classic Sheens. Yes it is hard to get dropped once you are a first grader, but this is Sheens junior development 101\. Miller is 19\. ALWAYS (Ok except for Lawrence & Marshall) Sheens gives them a taste, then sens them back regardless. This is typical Sheens junior development.

To me it's typical Sheen Dumbness ..I see Meaney is coming on leaps and bounds…

That's a hilarious comparison… Meaney is nearly 26 for a start... Depth player, no more... No less.

Blake Lazarus was also meant to be the next big thing wasn't he ?
What's he doing now ?

He returned from France early last year and played well for the Newtown Jets.
Don't where or what he is doing now. Injured?

Yes Bob, well played.
The point more Im making is some get very little to no chance to shine, yet others like Morris Sheens stubbornly persists with to the detriment of the teams success.

Poor recruitment if theyre no good.
Humble is treading water, Moltzen will be back in 7 as soon as Tedesco's back, and Tommy H will be meeting whoevers coaching BRET nex year….or getting 10 minutes every three weeks wearing #14

Yeah, you're probably right Ink !!!

Everyone seems to get a bit excited when they see someone playing well in State Cup. But there aren't too many that come out of that competition and make it in the big time. I get a bit skeptical in my old age these days !

Forget Miller he had his 5 minutes in the NRL and failed to shine…I reckon we should go for Sam Williams...The Canberra half playing behind McCrone.

Yeah, he's had literally about 5 minutes to prove himself. Who's to say Sam Williams will be a resounding success here either?

Blake Laz and Mullaney always get thrown up as boom youngsters, the current crop are compared to, both of those didn't have the through and through pedigree of a Miller, tedessco or even Rowe, Siro or Noafluma.
Mullaney came from the clouds and had an outstanding debut NYC year, that was a complete surprise, his next 2 years he treaded water in NYC (partly due to injury) and Blake was a promising junior, but missed 2 full years of develoment through injury and was far from a standout.

The likes of miller, tedessco et el, dominated the junior reps from the outset, made all the NSW/Aus age group teams and have than succeeded at NYC level, they are different catorgory of promising junior

Till he is given a fair crack at the position we will never know. Up to now he has been thrown in with a weeks notice and given the keys to the car, with the car out of tune.

I think he could be really good but like Lui he will need time and plenty of time invested in him. Didnt we keep hearing how much effort the coaching team put into Lui. So why dont they afford that same time to Miller.

I think Moltzen.Humble or Miller could make a good half but if I had to pick one I would probably go for Miller, the bottom line Sheens has to make the call now and stick with it as we need a no7 who can close out games, because Farah and Marshall both struggle in this department

He has potential but I don't think he's ready for 1st grade just like 99% of Toyota cup players. They aren't developing as well without Flegg and Reserve grade. Like someone else has pointed out, he should be playing NSW cup and if he excels there, then they have no choice but to put him in the side. hopefully the ARLC sort out the grading, it's a joke that under 20's is our 2nd tier competition.

I agree the u20s comp is not ideal but more players seem to progress directly into the nrl than from the state league. From the games I have seen the state league is the comp that needs an over haul the standard is rock bottom.

That may be due to player exposure that more are stepping up from NYC, alot easier to get noticed playing 20's than playing in a Reserve grade comp thats now been relegated to metro cup grounds. Under the old grading system, only the best of todays NYC players would be playing Reserve grade, the rest would be playing Flegg or metro cup, So you would have the best of the NYC players mixed with the best of fringe first graders over 20 making a much stronger Reserve grade competition.

Miller looked to have plenty of confidence laying last week against souths and he also seemed to have plenty of time to do things.

While Benjis here we will NEVER get a senior, dominant rep rated halfback, it will always be a makeshift hooker experiment, utiity or rookie jnr

Stubborn

This is why I want a change, too many things Sheens will NOT change have an affect and are interwoven with the rest of the squad dynamics.

Why wont he buy a decent prop???

Stubborn

what he is doing is working pretty well, we have ran top 4 in consecutive years.

a couple of losses doesn't mean everything we do is wrong

Woods is arguably the best junior Prop in the land and Keefy is an Origin and National player If they are both fit we really just need some handy back ups (Groat ,Bell and Moors) True we are probably a prop short but maybe we are keeping our coins for a bigger name prop in 2013

I would love nothing more than to see Miller make the big time. I have mentioned in previous threads over the years that we can't seem to produce a halfback. Scott Prince is the only top class half back we've had and he's a Queeslander. Strange isn't it …. We can produce centers and fullbacks and hookers ... But not a top class halfback.

Is that it for him?

Is his time here done?

Supposedly injured then there he is in NYC yesterday, dropped from 1sts after ONE chance

Your last line summed it up Ink… If you're dropped by the guy who religiously sticks with perennial underperformers, you're finished at WT. I mean the bloke debuts BMM in a finals game but Miller can't get a second game when the whole side is flat?

Sad really, I think the guy has what it takes to be a top 3 halfback in the NRL. This will probably be one of the few that comes back to haunt us.

And BMM had a great game in the finals. Pretty weak point to make.

Sheens promoted Miller as an 18 year old. It seems that he least had big wraps on him then.

Southern, I liked the way Sheens gave Miller a go, but then he hid him from his natural position which I can only imagine was to shield him from the pressure. But by doing this it only puts him under more pressure because he isn't playing how he is used to. He has always tried to get into the game when he could (when he wasn't getting waved away by Robbie) but how can he show his wares when he isn't given a proper run of matches?

Seems like it's fine to stick by Lui through thick and thin, but not give Miller the same opportunity.

Seems like it's fine for Tedesco to burst onto the scene and allow his enthusiasm as a 'natural fullback' to be freely expressed but not so with Miller. (I know there are some differences but you get my point.)

I can only hope that it is all part of Sheen's master plan, but if it results in Miller going elsewhere we will be the worse for it.
