If they're as good as those players from the bulldogs why doesnt Sheens give them a run ?!? Take a leaf out of Des' book, who unearthed Jamie Buhrer, Daniel Harrison, Darcy Lussick, Tim Robinson.
But Matt Groat is a great player…

Re Quote - Mullaney only played one good game??? He has only played 2 games in first grade, and impressed both times. Played well against the eagles on debut in a game the eels got smoked. Yes he's not better then Hayne, Captain obvious...

Tell me you'd prefer utai/tuqiri on the wing then Mullaney/Brown/Marika/Grant/Anyone young and talented ??
If your gonna stick with ageing players, hell we might aswell get Brett Hodgson back on board! He's still killing them over there !! All hail King Hodgo ! #Boom

Right choice was made with Mullaney.

He was down the pecking order at Tigers, so he was let go and now has a chance at another club to push for a regular starting spot.

There is very little to complain about in this situation.

he could've been given at least one game last year when we had mckinnon, brown etc filling in at fullback.

this kid has a long way to go… he will slowly get some confidence and im sure he will prove to be a very successful fulback.

he was down 'tim sheens' pecking order doesnt make it right.
Didnt we swap mullaney for humble ???? hmmmm

anyway it's all spilt milk… just think the recruitment policies at tigers has been awful for the last few years. when are we gonna sign a premium level player ?

save your money on braith and bodene, have a shot at thurston ! have a shot at mick gordon ! Matt Gillet !!! hell try and get Izzy back from GWS next year... i'm not suprised luke lewis didnt wanna come here.

Well said. Completely agree. Good luck to him and hope he continues to do well

Des didnt pick any of those guys until they were 21, and they got very little game time until they were 2 years out of NYC, he took a very slowly, slowly approach. Same with Finucane and Jackson, they are 21, and have got limited game time. Our guys are all still 19 or 20 and have huge futures.

As for Mullaney, you cant keep all the youngsters in your system, and Im comfortable with this decision. He is not in the same class as the top fullbacks, I think Tedessco is a top performer.
If the choice is tedessco (or korobete, NOafluma) or Mullaney, Mullaney IMO is not as good a prospect as the others.
He may play alot of NRL, and I hope he does.

As most of people here, I had high hopes, however, after watching him play in few BRET games I was disappointed.
In the last game I saw (against Parra's reserves last year), Humble was miles better.
So I was not surprised when they swap him for Humble :frowning:

Mullaneys problem was he couldn't play more than one position so sheens let him go

He's only just beginning, has a long way to go.
Development doesnt happen overnight.
People were saying of him before that he was too small…..
Dont look too small now

Before making statements do some research Mullaney has been playing a far chunk at 5/8 this yr at wenty , when first joined tigers this was his preferred position, however fullback got injured and he put his hand up to give it a crack and grew from there. Same with the goal kicking, Has a big heart wish him well not everyone is barba inglis and slater talent . We can't keep them all.

Still only 5' 6''. Bombs away Benji.

Benji's bombs will end up in row Z before Mullaney gets to catch them.

Not all of them Hybrid

Some actually might go backwards and sideways , but you must admit it is a great game plan

5 hit ups and a misskewed bomb

Why wouldn't that work ??

You just know he's gonna carve us up this week ! good on him i hope he does.
I think it's another FAIL from tigers recruitment, i'd rather keep him and play him on the wing then see him go to another club. He would def have got game time this year with the amount of injuries we've had, even if Tedesco was fit. Barba was never great in defence but look at him now, Mullaney will prob never be a Barba, but he looked pretty damn good against the Broncs last night !
Depth is not the Tigers strongsuit, but hey lets pay through the teeth for tuqiri and lets buy Reddy from Parra and not play him…
I can cop us losing games through the year if there is an outlook to the future. But there's not. Where's the young second rowers coming through ? Look at the bulldogs stocks, finucune, jackson, taupua, gavet, payne, stagg, halatau, pritchard, eastwood, foster ! and we've got Bell, BMM and Blair !! awesome...
Fulton and heigno arent exactly spring chickens either, and bodene, braith and pettybourne aren't exactly the future of the club. So who is ??
i want these questions answered... NOW !!! haha jokin, but seriously, Tigers, tough run home, i rate us an outside chance at best to make the 8, i'd love to see sheens give some young blokes a run and try something different.

Great post empire!

Exactly why Moltzen should have gone to the dragons, had a great deal with 3 years and may have got to play his preferred position in the halves.
I'd rather see young talent used elsewhere than keep them here until stubborn sheens wants to use them
