OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - #295

Pretty sure he will play 6 as he is not a utility to be 18th man. Although it does call to attention the issue with the 18th man being unavailable for his club, especially when the position is 5/8 and that what Burton plays week in week out for the dogs.
Poor Gus.. At least he has his little mate Galvin now to make things better. Although he won’t be cradled in for a downhill run with 20 mins left on the clock this week.

The QLDer in me wants Luai to get absolutely hammered. The WT's in me wants him to have an absolute blinder to do the club proud.
Either way, I'm sure I'll be happy as I will be watching from Ireland and will be enjoying a few Guinness beers.

Good luck Jarome and up the Maroons!
Like webby said to Kurt capewell, hope you get MOTM in a losing side

Apparently he is the first 5/8 or halfback to play for the Blues as a WT player.

I think Hodgo played in '05/ '06 but other than that, I don't think we've had a Blues player in the backline
Terry Hill in 2000. Tedesco as well. Scott Prince played halfback for the Maroons.

One of the greatest injustices was the way Kevin McGuiness was rorted in 2002. Started that season as the in form centre in the competition. Played City/Country, the game that used to be billed as an Origin trial, got MOM. Then didn’t get picked. That was the beginning of realising how on the nose our club was/still is with the NSW Blues. It took Farah years to finally break the door down as a regular, and they didn’t want to pick Tedesco either until they absolutely could no longer ignore him. The main reason I have no time for the Blues.

I don't really understand why Wests supporters would be happy to lose Jarome for a must win game.
At very best he flies back across the country heavily compromised.
Explain why I should be happy again?
It gets the "you can't play reps if you're a WT" monkey off our back, for a start. It gives Mason and Latu a chance you show their combo, and since nearly everyone's already written us off for the spoon again, there's no pressure, and it might even give some hope that we are actually developing depth.

I don't know how, as a Wests Tigers supporter, you can't be happy with Luai bring selected for NSW*

*unless you're a Queenslander, of course 🤭

Mbye for Maroons as well.

Forgot about Teddy.

Unlike most I haven't written off this year.
Canberra are very beatable with our full team on the field, then we have an imploding Manly.
The game against Canberra is the watershed moment for our season , but we're no hope without Jarome.
I'm a Wests supporter, not a channel 9 exhibition game supporter.
Manly & the Broncos to miss the 8. 😉

St George are falling away. Cowboys are not far away. Souths too.

Parra without Moses is literally taking away their hope.

Titans possibly win a couple- they are not as bad as the results.

Roosters, Dolphins, Tigers & Knights will be fighting to push into contention.

I'd be putting some sneaky money on the Dolphins making the 8. On a good run of form with a pretty decent, underrated team.

Raiders to finish 1st & play the Storm in the GF. 😉

Slightly disagree about the watershed game.

Tigers are off 4 straight losses & only have a slightly worse for & against than both St George & Cowboys. Not the absolute proof of how a team is going, but over a season F&A is a good indicator.

After 4 straight losses- it SHOULD be worse. But we are not getting hammered. I expect the Canberra game will be tough. Close. We might win.

I think we will probably split wins & losses on the tough games. But we have Titans & Sea Eagles twice, plus another bye, another game with the Panthers & another crack at the Cowboys.

I reckon if we are going to make any noise this year, our watershed moment comes in what I'm going to call 'Revenge Round'- Round 22 against the Bulldogs. I'm certain the team will be up for it after all the Galvin stuff. If we can split a few wins leading up to this one, claim a big scalp & go into the bye after that (another 2 points) it then goes into Sea Eagles, Cowboys, Raiders (again) & then the Titans. If we get points from 5 of our last 6 games....
