OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - #295

Where are the results since his arrival on the ladder? In the last 2 years he has been here have we looked like a top 8 team? Regardless of who he has "attracted here" we are still going to finish no where near competitive for finals, that's RESULTS not perception, is it just a Luai problem? No, it's a squad problem where we have significant gaps across the board but he is a liar "I'm here for life bro" and started seeing he is receiving 3rd party payments from PNG without informing his current club! It's clear he is a snakey used car salesman. All talk and then when he saw the private jets and dollars, everything he said when he initially signed was just a LIE.
Can we consider the bloke a human for a moment.

I think he came here with the best intentions.

When the boardroom drama reared its head again, chammas pounced.

We have to remember he has 4 kids and lives in sydney. So the offer was probably too good to refuse.

Benji even said that Jarome was emotional about making it.

Its also been reported here that he was actually in tears last night after the game.

I've also been told he was genuinely shocked and upset when the club told him he was free to leave.

We should be grateful for what he has done to help start the change process here. The club owes him nothing, because they paid him well. He owes us nothing either.

Its a business.

But at a human level, I think he is genuinely upset the club asked him to move on... And he was a good enough bloke to say yes for the betterment of the club (when he could have dug his heels in and taken the $1.2m).

He said some stupid shit. But he's a rugby league player in his 20s. Its part of the parcel.

He’s been a flop for mine, all talk no walk.
He’s been credited far too much for changing the culture here, I don’t see it - they’re players that have come, haven’t credited him for coming- just Benji.
AND we’re still having games where we get 60+ put on us, so what’s changed?
We’re looking down the barrell of another really poor season, last year it was the kids fault - who’s is it this year?
We’re not spooners anymore, but I said last year have we improved in line with the playing stocks we’ve added?
Most would say no, and he’s a big part of that.

Hard to believe anything he’s said from the first moment up to now, We’re been nothing but a pay day for him.

I saw Twal laying down the law in the huddle yesterday - give him the 1.2!!
Sorry mate was out for a night fish, Agree I gave him the benefit of the doubt for far too long trying to keep faith.

But now hit the road Jack.

No issue with Luai, appreciate him coming here when we were a bottom feeder club. He did good things for the club even if he didn't perform on the field as many had hoped. I believe him signing with the Chiefs was beneficial to both him and the club. He gets to set up his family and we get to spend his cash on upgrades and/or another signing. Letting him go early is good business. I wish him the best.

Now that the png deal & release are settled maybe JL can go into penrith mode for the remainder of the season & help us with our slim mathematical chance of making the 8 that's on life support before he leaves
If we can miraculously make the 8 we can then say that in his short stint at the tiges he saved us from the spoon in his 1st year & helped us to make the finals in his 2nd & he will then leave the club as a batman or robin or whatever he wants to call himself

Helps us to the finals ? Are three clubs above them getting busted for salary cap breaches ?

What I can’t understand is that there are heaps of players running around the comp, who have signed on with other clubs well in advance. Somehow they are able to continue to amicably play with their current team until their contract runs out without any dramas, but when it happens with our mob it always turns into a shit fight, media circus, derailing of our season soap opera!! Why?

Even Luai himself signed with us 18 months before his time with Penrith expired, but there was no issues there. He played well, the team continued to play well, there was no disharmony or ill feeling - they won the Premiership for crying out loud!

Because other teams aren't owned by HBG who leak like a sive ......

Don't think our fans make it easy they turn on players that commit elsewhere. We have history of it since Moses jumped ship and the media wind it up further. Never forget a game at Leichhardt where Woody's mum was in tears in the sheds. When clubs are travelling as poorly as ours we have massive resentment issues when players leave to join other clubs.

At other clubs they decide to leave during the off season before, giving more time for the players to process and get over it to focus on the season. At the tigers all the players leave announce moves mid year or sign elsewhere mid season which will create more disharmony
