one of my friends was a physio with Parramatta from 2009 and said Haynes was always up himself compared to some other players

My mates daughter was also a physio at Parramatta, not sure what years. She said exactly the same thing. If he didn't like her treatment plan he'd say "Jarryd Hayne doesn't do that". Always find people who refer to themselves in the third person as very weird.

I can see him thinking of himself as The Rock.

Rumours are that he has already lodged an appeal (which is his legal right). My personal hope is that his appeal is rejected.

He needs to be careful on that front - sometimes appeals can make things worse - there are many who feel the sentence was too light, so it could swing the other way if he loses out.

Appealing the conviction is a separate process to appealing the sentence. If he appeals the conviction and loses, the sentence is not reviewed.

did you see Tony Williams outburst on social media, wow

So much for their Christian beliefs

It’s that sort of cocky “I didn’t do anything wrong” attitude that got Hayne in hot water in the first place. Hayne the footballer was great to watch but he always came across as very arrogant

Sadly a lot of Christian men can be the worst. Male dominance over women is still viewed as a God given right in the teachings of many churches. Don’t get me started on what the Mormons believe, this where the likes of players such as Inu come from.

It has more to do with the low IQ of Hayne and his two Parramatta mates. It also afflicts many footballers who believe and relish in their own publicity. It is very widespread in NRL.. De Belin is next in line.

I hate people spruiking religon as an example of a persons character . Atheists, Agnostics, all religons and all races have their share of low life. Many religons still live in the dark ages, with young girls being circumsized and the women treated as chattel. Society is to blame, and men in particular,we still appear to live in the dark ages.

Slightly off-topic, but was checking the American Rugby league site, after t-rex commented on hayne, and I deadset found noffa and issac lukes love child (on the left)

Two of Jarryd Hayne's former teammates have been slammed for 'despicable' social media posts after Hayne's sentencing for sexual assault. NRL supremo Peter V’landys has announced the league will consider erasing Jarryd Hayne from the game’s history books.

V’landys had earlier this year said in public the game would consider stripping Hayne of his Dally M Medals. The annual player of the year award is the most prestigious individual honour in rugby league — and now they could be taken away from the former Parramatta Eels star.

The disgraced player has a huge collection of honours that the league and his former club will now face the difficult prospect of potentially scratching them from existence.

The 33-year-old will be jailed for at least three years and eight months without parole for sexually assaulting a woman in her Newcastle home in 2018. He was given a maximum sentence of five years and nine months.

Hayne had been found guilty of two counts of sexual intercourse without consent. He was found not guilty of the more serious charges of aggravated sexual intercourse without consent, recklessly inflicting actual bodily harm.

The convicted sex offender has launched an appeal against his rape conviction.

Hayne was named Dally M Player of the Year in 2009 and 2014 as well as making the Team of the Year three times. He was also named Rookie of the Year in 2006.He was twice awarded Paramatta’s Ken Thornett Medal as the club’s best player.

V’landys said Friday the league will have a conversation about Hayne’s honours, after his appeal process is completed. “No it’s not hard to take them away but we don’t want to prejudice the legal process,” V’landys told 2GB Radio.“We’ll consult the Parramatta club and we’ll make a decision after that,” he said. “We would like to see Jarryd exhaust his appeal process, once he’s done that we’ll make a decision.“Naturally we’ll consult the Parramatta club that he played with, but I think it’s a bit early to be considering it.”

V’landys revealed it had already been raised amongst the rugby league commission and there “absolutely” will be consideration if Hayne loses his appeal. “Absolutely, yes, there will be consideration given and the Commission has already discussed it.”Parramatta is also reportedly considering a similar decision to strip Hayne of his awards with the club.

Fair point, but highly doubt the appeal will overturn the conviction....he may get a reduced sentence, or an increased one....gotta remember he allegedly raped a lady in the USA....I can only imagine how she feels about his conviction here
