Jason Clarke

ET, Sue, Lawrence, Sirro, Aloiai, Chee-Kam is not a bad back row rotation.
We need a strike 2nd rower not a plodder.

I honestly don't understand the problems or critics of Jason Clark here.

Let's start and compare him to Sirro this year

Clark v Sirro
Ave Min - 33 v 61
Ave Runs - 9.9 v 6.3 - So 30% more per match in half the time
Ave Meters - 77 v 63 - SO 22% more in half the time
Ave tackles - 27.3 v 25.2 - So more tackles in half the time
Effective Tackle % - 96.5% v 88.3% - So makes more tackles and is much more effective
Errors - 4 each but Siro has played 100 mins more and touched the ball less
Penalties Against - 3 v 7 so half the penalties against

He also brings 120 FG games experience to an inexperienced squad.

So can someone explain to me why we wouldn't see Clarke as an improvement to our starting line up let alone our bench.

As for the rumour around the christening that is the third time I've heard that and let me tell you if a coach pulled that crap on a special day for my family then I would be out of their too - low move

A thumbs up on the last sentence Boon. I hope that rumour isn't true… A low act indeed. :astonished:

Snowden would be nice but injuries may be a problem for him now
Clarke is a battler who would only be a good back up , we have similar here already but if Souths are kicking in and it's dirt cheap then maybe but I would not be running after him

Why are you comparing a Front rower with a back rower?
Why pick out Siro - why not Halatau or Lovett?.

Axe to grind I would say off the top of my head.

Ok - you don't like Siro (that is fine) why would you want to buy a second grade front rower that is at the end of his career, a reserve grader and a plodder?

We have better than him in reserve grade ourselves.

I think it was a rumour that Souffs started themselves so they could off load this no-hoper onto us, thinking we would be silly enough to fall for it.

You say "So can someone explain to me why we wouldn't see Clarke as an improvement to our starting line up let alone our bench."

I'll explain - if you think Clark is better than Woods, Grant (starting), Sue and Ava (bench) - let us compare apples with apples… I am glad you are not our recruitment officer.

Yeh unfair to compare stats with guys who play diffrent positions. Siro is on one side of the field so has less opportunity to improve workrate compared to someone who plays in the middle like Clarke.

The Weststigers is the home of the plodder Clark would fit in nicely with Siro and Co

We already have Buchanan. Clark is similar yet has an extra 80 odd games experience. Not an addition we need given the reported tightness of our cap.

If true and I doubt it,it sends a pretty crappy message to a few players we have in our lower grades who have been really doing well and hoping to get a chance in the top grade. You would have to think it is just a gee up, when you talk about front row in once sentence, than throw up Clarks name something is wrong

My father inlaw played souths juniors and A grade for coogee, and has supported them for 70 odd years, he said to me " Clark offers nothing and should retire."

Clark returns to the bench this week for Souths. Paul Carter (suspension) returns and will start in place of Chris Grevsmuhl, who has been dropped. Nathan Brown will start at prop.
Grevsmuhl would be a good pick up.

He's already signed with Penrith for next year, that's why Souths are treating him like crap.

We've signed Tim Grant and Elijah Taylor in the last 6 months, we're going alright in the forward recruitment stakes. Josh Aloiai has been a decent pickup as well. Grass is always greener
