Got a battle on our hands to keep a couple of these kids in Flegg. I won’t name the kids but , Matt Cameron (panthers), Peter sharp (bulldogs) and Crusher Cleal (manly), very keen on 4 different kids in this Flegg side. Interesting next couple of months for hartigan and the team on who they prioritise in terms of up and coming talent. And someone mentioned lambkins influence in signing junior talent on this forum in the past, it seems he may be offered a more lucrative position elsewhere also. Perils of a junior players going well I suppose.

Well we shouldn't lose any of them. At least none of the ones we want to keep. Offer Lambkin whatever he wants. Deserves a massively pay rise. Exposure to senior teams if he wants it. With the Coe coming you'd hope that would be enticing too.

We need to get Dillon, Scolari, Tuifua, Lui, Pole, Faitmau,Sykes all signed up. We have spots for them in first grade.

This will be interesting to see how it plays out. We can’t keep them all and there seems to be a push for signing outside backs which limits their pathways a bit. For example, at this point we’ve got Fitzgibbon, Kepoa, Gebbie, Cini and even Cooper holding a number of the Flegg juniors out. At least Ogden & Kei who I rate extremely highly are getting a run.

The only good thing is that those who really want it will go as hard as they can to push for a spot but then that leaves them open to poaching.

Catch 22 but better than having the cupboard bare.

This is one reason why i'd be letting the likes of Copper go, or let him play Ron Massey as a backup. I'd even be inclined to let Hoffman and potentially Talau go too. Neither really have positions. They're too slow for backs and don't work hard enough to play forwards. Probably move Talau to NSW cup for the rest of the year and have him play back row/lock. and start bulking up.

I'd maybe even add Kei to that list. Highly rated but i've never seen him do anything. Looks like a younger version of Nof, whom we already have secured (why?!). Looks suspect in defence and under the high ball. Doesn't look that quick but i've never seen him in open field. He just never seems to get the ball in space. If he is very fast then he'd at least be addressing that need.

I'd have the likes of Dillon, Scolari, Ogden and Fautimau ahead of these guys

I have to agree with BB, I think Edene Gebbie and Allan Fitzgibbon can also go. A nsw cup backline of
1- Dillon
2- Scolari
3- Ogden
4- Pauga
5- Cini ?
Not to sure about Cini but I think he is worth keeping for a bit longer.

Ive never seen anything in Kei that remotely resembles an NRL player. He really struggles with the basics, have seen him blow numerous basic two on ones to set up tries. I hope he isnt on an NRL contract next year?

Ogden in particular looks like he could jump into first grade, actually reminds me of Moses Suli when he was coming through, big guy but with great footwork.

I feel Hoffman is the type of player who will be as good as the team he is in. He's a great line runner but needs to be put in the gap. Has put on a lot of size since he's got here and likely has more to go.

personally disagree, the guy is just fast, so was that John Grant we got from union. i dont see any actual football talent

Agree with most of what was said on here.

1. Kei seems to be overrated, haven't seen anything to say he has what it takes to step up. Similar to Talau, living off of the reputation of family. I do think Talau though could really be that second-rower/lock that could come off the bench and have an impact with his skillset.

2. Ogden and Moses Suli similarity.

3. Hoffman being a product of the team he is in. No world beater. Dare I say it, I think the reason he was bought over was to get Simpkin over the line. They are best mates and It definitely would've enticed him to come over or else he probably would have felt homesick by now. Reece is no world beater but he is solid.

Great discussion guys, great to be able to talk about positives and shining lights in a decade of disasters. for the WT.

Hoffman was supposedly stepping up in last night's game because he was experienced or whatever...

I feel he did not do this.

Zac Dockar Clay however did...

Hoffman is a God of state Cup, eternally.

To be honest, I actually thought it was his best game for us yesterday. He was the main communicator on that edge and took Kei under his wing. He might end up being that player that you need in your team. Solid without being spectacular. Reminds me of a bigger version of Momirovski.

Not sure I understand that. Fitzgibbon has shown plenty, still a lot to learn but boy he is quick. Speed you have or you don’t, can’t teach that, the rest you can. Haven’t seen Gebbie yet.

We have to make some tough calls going forward. Fitzgibbon is fast but lacks the basics. Just my opinion mate. As for Gebbie why didn’t he play last night?

I'm not sure, felt he wasn't as involved as he could've been.

I'd love to see all these lads become guns but we know what's not how it works.

Either way, great game last night.
Still buzzing about the win.

Keen for kick off tonight!

It is really great to see. Penrith's blueprint refers to the fact that these boys have played together for years, they love playing for each other and understand each other better than anyone. This is what we are trying to emulate. It is sustained success. The top grade is a product of our decade of failure. Our top grade in a few years will be a mirror of our success in the juniors.

A nsw cup backline of
1- Dillon
2- Scolari
3- Ogden
4- Pauga
5- Cini ?

Fitzgibbon came from an athletics background . He's on a steep learning curve and he continues to develop. We need to be patient.

Kei played well in his return game. He finished a good movement with a try in the corner with a good turn of pace. He forced his way over the tryline for a second with at least three players attempting to stop him. The young centre Alexander is one to watch. His combination with Scolari in defence particularly was excellent. You can see those two play for one another.

Fitzgibbon is lightning fast and unafraid of the dirty stuff. Takes plenty of dirty hitups off our line. One to keep.

@Demps that Mavoni vid is a different sort of highlights clip. What's that all about?

Just some street dramas I assume.
LOL.

The 046 dude is some rapper.
Punching on over something....

We need to find if 046 can play footy. Park him in the forwards. Anyone brave enough to take on Mavoni in a fistfight could easily take a hitup against the Daniel Alvaros of the world.
