JESSIE RAMIEN BOOTED FROM KNIGHTS!

@TYGA I really don’t understand all this “ no one coming here until we release this or that player”.
I calculate that we do have currently some minor space under the cap ..... and and am confident on my calculations that next year we will have around freed up around $1M for new players.
Fonua, Rochow and Robbie should bring is around $700k and carryover 2019 cap savings added to same 2020 recurrent savings gap another $300to $500k. And that’s not even taking into consideration the long serving allowance for Lawrence.
So I recon we are being too pessimistic on this front. Any other movement of players such as McQueen, Mats, Packer, Taylor and Reynolds are cherries on top. But we shouldn’t be over generous in making deals on that front. They are quality players and could prove very handy if retained.

Aloai, MCK, Liddle, Mikalele all signed upgraded deals and the top 30 still has to be filled to replace these players leaving. We had zero room to sign DWZ and a cap penalty this year and next of 300k. Mbye’s salary is also not subsidised next year. Dogs were covering 150k.
The long serving player allowance is spread amongst the cap so it’s not exclusive to Lawrence. I don’t know we have any recurrent cap savings we are on the dollar of the salary cap as confirmed by Madge when he tried to sign DWZ.

No one knows but Madge and Pascoe but I can’t see us having any cap room. I like what we are doing with the players coming through retaining everyone we should keep.

I reckon we have spare change left at best next year as Benji and Lawrence also have to sign new deals. I hope you are right tbh but I think Cleary left a bigger problem than most believe.

@TYGA we did not have zero room to sign DWZ .... we did not have enough room to sign him on his high end $s contract.
Read my numbers mate ..... we will have plenty to cover upgrades and still have overs.

I don’t know who’s told who we won’t be active in the market but again... from inside OUR club - they aren’t the words being used atm “loose change”, “no recurrent savings”

Somebody seems to be trying to flush out a leaky pipe !

I'm afraid to ask what we signed rochow and Mahe for...

I often ask myself what did we sign Rochow for, and it wasn’t about money

To be fair they need more competition for Mitchell and Manu. Pity they are not affiliated with the Wyong Roos at current, would have been a nice easy commute for Ramien.

Seriously, disregard the cap for a minute, just like the chooks do, both Cronulla and the roosters have too many centres to fit into their team now, let alone add another one

That's good ..just means they haven't come to agreement with Latrell and he'll be coming to the Wests Tigers as instead of a teddy bear Latrell had a soft toy Tiger as a kid..

Lol I love how they say ‘shock’ contender. The Roosters are a contender for every decent player on the market - it’s never s shock, more like a given!

Attitude can be fixed by the right coach aka Madge

I was being sarcastic.

@momo_amp_medo There was a report that Ramien was on $375K per year at Newcastle. He was complaining that he wasn't being paid enough so he will want more than $375 K per year, more like $475K or more. Worth signing? No.

What he wants and what the market determines he's worth can be two very diff things...

He's done nothing to increase his value this year
