Joel jackson

Awful….took about five mins for the trainers to see him.

I could hear him groaning, and his leg was like a right angle......not nice.

Yeah they took a while to get to him, didn't they?

Also, the game should have been stopped. He was left lying in a heap for a good 2-3 minutes. Not nice.

Not cool at all

I managed to get a photo of it.

poor guy

was in good form at the end of 09 and missed most of the 2010 season, was just getting back into the swing of things.

hopefully he returns next year and has a successful season

I don't like to say it but that ankle could be a career killer. Looked seriously nasty and I hope he makes it back next year.

Wasn't aware of the injury as I was on the other side of the field but I could hear the crowd making a big fuss to get some attention to the poor kid not good…...

Doctor was basically holding the joint together on the stretcher by the looks of it

That was awful - the worst injury I've seen since Pat Richards did his up at Blue Tongue … poor kid was screaming for what seemed like ages. Hope it's not as bad as it looked, and he makes a full recovery.

Why did it take so long for the trainers/medical staff to get to him???

Don't know - but the whole hill could hear him screaming and were all yelling out to the trainer.

I think cuzzo said on the website it was a broken leg, the bone was visibly popping out of the sock, just above the ankle, poor kid and then the stretcher took 5 mins to get out there. Donald got his money's worth on the w.e thats for sure.. get better soon Joel

What would you expect them to do, offer to pay him for a year when he can't play? Lets take a breath and see what happens. For all you know Tigers could be waiting to see results of tests/scans/advice. If he can't play next year and he has no contract, it is a bit much to expect them to sign him to do something he can't do (to get technical it is not possible to form such a contract, the term is frustrated)

They had verbally agreed to a deal the week before the game. After the storm game and the injury they said they would no longer honour the deal and he is moving back home to the country.

If they agreed to sign him stick to your word, thought they would have learnt after the moltzen debacle earlier in the year.

That's a very bad break, the poor bloke may never play league again for all we know. I think the Tigers did the right thing in this case. There will be other wingers looking for an opportunity who are healthy and fit, why deprive them of the right to a contract when paying someone who might not get on the field?
