Because they always go unnoticed being based in Melbourne. WT are a stone's throw away from the city so we're an easy target for media to get to. It's just something people need to accept - if you don't buy what they say, fine, but the club is committed to it.

I didn't even think he was that bad. He did play bad at times, but a lot of Nofoaluma's success can be attributed to BJ Leilua. His presence created a lot of doubt for opposition wingers.

Think he went missing in games with his ball carries out of line but did notice later in the season picked up that aspect of his game. Good that he has shed the KG's and is fit.

There are 2 reasons - Contract year (Club Option) and genuine competition for spots with Momo returning.

With no Benji crabbing across field more direct ball and him fitter should pay dividends and we need our strike weapons firing to make the 8 in 2021.

Sounds like BJ is owning his ordinary debut season and is committing to getting back to his best self. Can’t ask for much more. I hope he can deliver on that commitment because we need to have him firing on all cylinders.

Last year was a write off for a lot of players with Covid, family concerns and fitness. I think BJ will fire as Douihei is a better fit for him than Benji.

100% agree, in both attack and defence, we will improve across the park without Benji

The big question is where our points come from.
Douhiei, Simpkin or Laurie are unproven. Mbye/Brooks have not lived up to expectations.
It’s a double edged sword for us I can see a more Madge Style team defence first and try to run over teams.

We have the players If they fire BJ, Jet, Talau, Nofa, Blore, Ofehengaue, Tamou, Luciano, Utoikamanu are all powerful runners.

I’ve got hope we will be drastically improved we seem to have better athletes across the park.

Yes and i don't see Mybe getting a gig there this year.

Although i think fullback will be his position with Laurie not being released early, that's what we signed him up for originally on the big coin now perform.

Chris Lawrence never had to 'own' this or that because he was a professional. How far has this club fallen relying on someone being paid a significant amount to deliver what he is contracted to do?

I reckon The second half of the season when all players should have played themselves into a high level of fitness we will see the ones who are eating dirty. I was very disappointed with BJ’s effort in 2020. Sure, the breeze wasn’t blowing in the right direction, separation anxiety, pay cuts, bubble restrictions etc were hard to deal with for some, but I expected more from him. I honestly thought he was tougher. To see him throw in the towel at Leichhardt and go down hill from there was a surprise to me.
He can be the most destructive centre in the game if he wants to be, but a reaction from fear of the club not taking up the CO is not the same as he himself playing on the front foot. imo.

Competition for spots, club option for 2022, and having his brother on his back is setting him up for a breakout season. Just need a sports psychologist to help him with the mental part of the game.

Never used his brain ever in his career hahaha. He can still be a damaging player for us, he’s always gonna have a brain snap in him. Being a bit more mobile should help a bit with his defensive issues and get him more involved at least.

Doubt it but he's looking a hell of a lot fitter which should lead to improved decision making out on the field as he won't be so gassed. At least in theory anyway...
