I really don't understand the moaning about the dropping of Matterson. We got nothing for him, etc etc. Yes we did get something for him. Team harmony.
If you've never worked in a team you might not get that. It was absolutely clear at the end of last season that the current WT squad wanted nothing to do with Matterson. Wise decision to show him the door. He was too good for us.

Not many fell out with him. It became untenable when Matterson was about to play the Mental Health card. He believed that his career was going to be shortened by playing under Madge because Madge expects players to train and play with niggles.

Not many fell out with him. It became untenable when Matterson was about to play the Mental Health card. He believed that his career was going to be shortened by playing under Madge because Madge expects players to train and play with niggles.

And that, again, is the American model, which all teh agents are copying. If anyone follows the NFL they would know players like L Bell and co have sat out entire seasons as they felt the teams style would lessen their careers.

If players feel Madge's style will cost them a few years of playing time, then we may well struggle to get anyone decent. My main issue with Matterson is that we had to get something back. 'Team harmony' does not constitute a win. Storm, Titans both handling Arrow and JAC much better / want players in return.

Well if it’s true about our players savaging him when he turned up at a social event then he can’t stay. Period.
He showed some thick skin to show up.
If I did what he did, I wouldn’t show my face out of embarrassment.
Imagine showing your face at work after disparaging the company in the media.
It leads me to believe Matterson isn’t really with what’s going on or had little input in it.
He is being led by the ugly Orr’s

Matterson release is purely business, players didn’t want him there & we didn’t want to pay a dollar more for him. If a deal was done prior to today it would of been, but he was always going to be released before the new NRL financial year started. We no longer contribute any $$ towards Matterson.
In relation to Lomax appears Dragons have put their foot down for 2020…but don’t rule out 2021.

No way he would be and I don’t think Nofo would ever leave us - he loves the club too much. Momorivski might be a better choice, but Bellamy would probably want Talau and personally I would like to lose either of them.

Storm, Titans both handling Arrow and JAC much better / want players in return.

I don't think this is necessarily true.

Just look at Roosters and Latrell - the most successful and powerful team in the recent years, but they didn't get anything their way with Latrell, not even the ultimate release.

To say Storm and Titans are handling it better... based on what? Both are paying players who don't want to be there any more. By all reports JAC and Arrow are "professional enough" to see out whatever remaining time they have with their club, but that's based on now, the preseason, not end of the regular season when we see how they actually play.

It may turn out that Arrow's form goes to crap and Titans are paying a bloke big money who wants to be somewhere else.

Storm may not end up getting anyone swapped for JAC, and whilst they wait, they don't have JAC's contract money to spend. Because he's definitely going, they'll need to spend it on a new winger at some point.

Avo, why do that mate? If they want to believe that we have an altruistic view and is why we keep losing and not signing marquee players, then they can imo.
I’ve gotta hand it to Madge! He’s knocking on doors all over the country, even talking to players who want to stay put.
