Just watching the journeyman podcast, Trent merrin was on there claiming there's going to be a huge bombshell dropping on the NRL before the end of the year that's going to disrupt the way they do business - that it's really going to shake things up. It was in the last ten minutes -

Anyone have an idea what it could refer to? Rugby 360 maybe?

Former Dragons and NSW State of Origin forward Trent Merrin has been charged with fraud after police raided his Wollongong home over allegations he stole $140,000 worth of cryptocurrency.
Merrin’s home at Barrack Point on the NSW south coast was raided on Tuesday morning, when police seized several electronic devices which will be forensically examined.

NSW Police confirmed it had begun an investigation late last year into reports that the cryptocurrency had been stolen from an account belonging to a 29-year-old man.

Police said Merrin had been arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station, where he was charged with dishonestly obtaining a financial advantage by deception.

“Police will allege in court that the man accessed the 29-year-old man’s account and transferred $140,000 worth of cryptocurrency,” the statement said.

Merrin was granted conditional bail to face Port Kembla Local Court on December 3.

He has been contacted for comment.

The former Blues forward played more than 150 games for the Dragons across two stints, either side of time at Penrith and Leeds in the English Super League.

He was a member of the Dragons side that won the club’s last premiership in 2010, and played 13 games for NSW and seven matches for Australia.

He announced his retirement early in the 2021 season, not long after playing his 250th game of top-level rugby league.
