Just watched the Wests Magpies v Norths KOE cup at Lidcombe. Anyone hoping for these players to save the Wests Tigers side will be disappointed.


Magpies were studded with NRL players.
Jake Simpkin, Joe Ofahengaue, Daine Laurie, David Nofoaluma and some with limited time in NRL like Brandon Tumeth, Tuki Simpkins, Justin Mutamua and Will Smith.

They were not impressive. They went down to Norths Nobodies 36-26 after trailing 32-6 at halftime.

Joe O put in and Jake Simpkin had some good touches. Daine tried hard and made some good breaks. Matamua had good impact at times. Smith was OK, nothing more. The number 7 Hill isn't NRL level

This tells me the structures the coaches have given the team are rubbish at this level and at nrl level for all to see.

Thing about reggies though - how many weak links do you have? It's backs that carve up in reggies, not forwards, and if your backs are all horrendous or really young, your team will still get lapped out wide, even if the forwards are all experienced heads.

Unfortunately it falls to individual performances, and I assume that's part of what you are saying, but the scoreboard is less representative of individual performances.
