K. walters looks like the favorite now

I think people are reading to much into it all.

**"Walters comes from a winning b/ground under bellamy at Storm!!!"**
So did Kearney.
**"Dont want Walters, seems a party guy, back to Baa Baa days"
"Dont want Parish, apparently he rants raves screams- loony nutter"**
**"Walters was an excellent half"**
So was Freddy & Tommy….

for every 'for' argument, a neg can be made

I'd prefer potter as he has experience where parish and Walters have been only assistants

It's difficult to give an accurate rating for the coaching contenders simply because they're all untried at NRL level. Regardless of who gets the gig, I'd like to see the new coach instill a tougher mentality among all of the players, plus choose the side on form - not reputation.

Alf has a business on the Sunshine Coast and has just recently become a grandfather , don't be so sure he will come down to Sydney

Apparently is part of the coaching team.

Why on earth would these THREE all come to us on bottom dollar?
We are paying peanuts

Being a successful head coach in NRL is the best coaching credential. Each of the 3 applicants are relatively young and would jump at the opportunity to prove their ability at NRL level even if the salary is not what the top NRL coaches are being paid. It is a good sign that WEsts Tigers can attract such quality applicants.

NRL coaching gigs aren't exactly easy to come by.

Would you rather be an assistant coach on say ~100k or finally get a start as a head NRL coach on ~200k?

No brainer really.

Man, only 200K!! I couldn't live on that, especially if they threw in a house, car and paid most of my expenses. Geez, abnyone would be living on the street!!

Could Sheens get the position of Australian coach if it becomes a full time position? (as discussed in today's telegraph)

You would have to think he would be offered it given his record with the Kangaroos.

he be good too as the depth is ridiculous, lose a 7 bring in dce, lose a 9 bring in Farah, lose a winger or centre etc it's endless, none of this out of position crap.

I am referring to the post above mine that you quoted (Walters–Langer---Ryan).....only one has really been mentioned, the other two figments of forum members imaginations, I doubt...

It is a good sign that WEsts Tigers can attract such quality applicants.

...really applies. Langer seems to be on a good wicket doing what hes doing, dunno bout the other bloke
Id think if they were a package theyd all command more than the peanuts were offering

Don't want to pour cold water on this coaching triumverate you have planned but Kevie and Ryan had a punch up along with Chris Johns at either the Colmslie or Calamvale hotels when they were all playing together in Brisbane

Watto ,you'd probably remember this . My understanding is they don't get on at all .

The fight definitely happened Chris Johns had a black eye to show for it ,The Broncs tried to sweep it under the carpet at the time

Alan Jones this morning commented on the current WT's situation - aside from the Sheen's payout drama he said there are accusations the whole process of finding a new coach has been bungled and Matt Parish has pulled out because the Tigers are taking too long.

He said Kevin Walters was now the favourite.
