Kane Evans

nah he's right. kane evans played for a few balmain teams in the lower grades and was poached by the chooks. distinctly remember.

Kane Evans is an Australian-Fijian rugby league player who represented Fiji in the 2013 World Cup.
Playing career

Evans played for junior clubs Leichhardt Wanderers, Balmain Police Boys and the Leichhardt Juniors.[2]

Signed by the Sydney Roosters, Evans played in the Toyota Cup in 2011 and was named in the Team of the Year. In 2012 he played for the New South Wales Under 20's side.[3]

He played for the Newtown Jets in the NSW Cup in 2013 and was named in the New South Wales Cup team of the year.

In 2013, Evans was named in the Fiji squad for the World Cup.[4]

Evans is rated extremely highly by the Roosters and they tried to play him last year, once he got injured and then they had second tier issues iirc.
Robinson has talked him up often.

Wow, had no idea he played his juniors with us. I stand corrected.

What a shame we let the bloke go, I rate him very very highly. He's a massive boy so he was a stand out in the 20's especially running over little blokes every game. If he can match it with the men in the NRL I can see him having a huge career. Napa has already shown his potential this year too.

Would be awesome if we could bring him back.

Speaking of young gun props, what happened to Klemmer. The Dogs signed him on a big contract and he played a few games and disappeared. Injury?

Damn Roosters offering big bucks to young boys from other regions.

Would be shocked if we hadn't lined up a NYC jersey for him. Strange for someone to play for 3 Balmain junior clubs and then go to the Roosters. The only thing Roosters offer is $.

But does anyone know if he actually grew up in Balmain or if he moved there at like age 12, played for a few years and then left? That would make a difference to his attachment to the area.

I don't think the Tigers have ever had a NYC player over 2m tall. We lack props, yet when there's one in our own backyard he gets away? Shouldn't happen.

Sironen, Spence, Lovett, & Dwyer would easily be over 2M off the top of my head…

2m is freakishly tall, talking NBA levels. Only a handlful of players in the NRL are actually that tall, Dane Tilse is probably amongst the tallest and he is bang on 2m.

Hell, even Dave Taylor is only 188cm.
