Keebra Park High

Jordan had a contract to join the Tigers but cited a family illness for his reasons to stay up North, he consequently suffered a few injuries and it's only taken till now for him to realise his potential.
Maybe we are ignoring the talent in our own backyard, maybe we should invest a little more in Holy Cross Ryde and bring the Campbelltown colleges back on board instead of losing our Juniors to rival clubs.

Good idea surely we could offer scholarships or whatever they are called these days to aspiring young kiwi talent to schools in our own districts

From the current top squad it's Felise, Jacobs and Heleta. It just seems ridiculous to let the most consistently strong rugby league school in QLD slip away like that. It put a dent in the Raiders recruitment for a few years after they moved from them to us. While it is likely to be less important to have so many young players signed up with the 20's gone from next year to let such a strong recruitment program that scours QLD, Northern NSW and NZ for players for their program to slip away is poor management. Hopefully the club has hired a whole heap of recruiters to go out and look for the best juniors to fill the void.

Coombabah high school would fit ok

Lots of local cattle there and actually not leaning so heavily on Keebra.

Well this is bad news. Very disappointing. Can't believe McDonnell would have that much sway. Losing one of the top 5 rugby league schools in the country can never be a good thing.

Who are we going to get instead? Maybe try to re-ignite St Gregs into a decent team again?

Besides Benji the player with the biggest wraps on him when he came out of Keebra was Ben Murdoch, look how that turned out.

Teo had big wraps ,as did Eastwood ,Norman and Moa

Forgot that Rob Lui was also a Keebra Park boy also

I'm fine with this to be honest. We have had a lot of 20s players but not many FG and only really Benji who has been a star.

Also and I think more importantly I think as a Western Sydney club we should be investing in West Sydney schools and juniors and prob not in Kiwis living in Brisbane.

Also outside of Benj it seemed the best players (Eastwood, Norman, Moa, Kahu) all ended up at other clubs so what was the point if we only got the 2nd stringers.

Probably more a reflection of us as a club more than the players we've recruited from there
Moa was here before he debuted in NRL

They all seem to be Kiwis anyway. We'd be better off trying to get a tie-in with a school in NZ and cut out the middleman. Get a scholarship scheme in Fiji too.

I agree.

If they are Kiwi kids they have no particular loyalty to the Tigers except if they come down to us and spend a few years in the system. If they are Queenslanders then we are a massive risk to lose them to a QLD side like Jordan Kahu. And if they are Kiwis who are adjusted to Brisbane and not Sydney, same deal.

Raiders have been stung in the past leaning heavily on a QLD feeder team, you get guys like Milford who obviously left and Papalii who almost did.

Just identify good talent early and get your cheque books ready. That's what everyone does most of the time from the top schoolboy sides.

I had this conversation with a mate not too long ago I think the tigers have been used in the keebra connection not the other way around. As you saw in the side not many stay that are keebra affiliated.
Some talk about relocation. It's time we do.

We need to relocate Whole heartedly to the out skirts of South western sydney!
Reestablish a connection with the local Schools and get a foothold finally in the communitee.
The Wests leagues club at Campbelltown needs to re affiliate with Ashfield again and Balmain should only only have a presence in the history of the joint venture.

Down the track, a large stadium around leppington and a club base near the new international airport would be ideal but the start is rekindling with the local juniors of all southwestern sydney regions.

If we don't do it, another club will and we'll be forced out of Sydney.
Go where the growth is, don't shy away from it, embrace it like penrith have and make it a one town team.
