Regarding the hooker/dh position in the current game.......
Just watch the hookers in the better teams and what they bring in value, structure in both A and D. The quality guys are running the team and plays as much as the halves. They are choosing where the ball goes, passing long and short, out in front and off the ground, they are making incisive runs and dictating ruck speed, they are bringing runners on to the ball or running to the line and ball playing, some are kicking well out of dh. They are leading the D and making the most tackles in a game every week.
Hate to say this but Liddle is well short of this. Capable of 1 or 2 decent breaks, **but goes missing at dh more than any other hooker in the NRL and often for 2-3 tackles in the same set.** His service is poor and passing game non existent, his D is questionable, his fitness is low, he can’t kick the football at all. I am not being nasty but honestly if we are looking at gaping faults in our squad and why we can’t compete, surely our spine is a good place to start.
Everybody has been riding Brooks, and rightly so, but compared to the top teams we have been short a decent full back and 5/8 for most games of this season as well. Laurie and AD might have played well enough a few times but both have a long way to go also.

After Simpkin went off with his shoulder injury i was watching various players go into dh and was wondering where is Liddle. It happened a few times yesterday but it’s not the first time. The same thing has been happening all season- it seems like a stamina or fitness issue. Once he gets tired his passing gets worse as well.

Tom Mikaele. When most today made ni effort he made 140 meters and 33 tackles.

A few handling errors here and their but he makes more meters per run and per minute then any of our forwards and has had a 93% tackle effectiveness.

To his credit, his ball security has been good the last couple of games.

Lee will probably give him a 4 year contract and he will go back to leading the error count.
