**Bulldogs halfback Brett Kimmorley poised to announce his retirement from NRL**
>
BULLDOGS halfback Brett Kimmorley has called time on his illustrious 15-year NRL career.
>
The former Test halfback knocked back offers from the Canberra, Parramatta and his former club Cronulla before reaching the agonising decision.
>
Kimmorley, 33, is considered one of the game's great survivors, beginning his career with Newcastle as a teenager before playing with the Hunter Mariners, Melbourne Storm, Northern Eagles, the Sharks and most recently the Bulldogs.
>
He will continue his work in the media with Fox Sports while also taking up a coaching role with the Canterbury club for the next two seasons with an eye on one day becoming an NRL coach.
>
The champion halfback will formally announce his decision at a media conference called by the Canterbury club today.
>
Kimmorley will join teammate Luke Patten, who is bound for the UK Super League, in farewelling Bulldogs fans on Monday night in their final home game at ANZ Stadium against the Panthers.
A real shame. A very good ambassador for the game and a smart footballer on the paddock. A steady halfback which every team he played for were competitive at some point.
