Kogarah sold out

I have a rule that I NEVER pay for tickets for away games… but I will accept the free tickets from one of their assistant coaches!!! Go you tigers. Hope we smash them.

Slow sales despite grudge March 15, 2012

IT HAS been billed as a grudge match, and a chance for scorned St George Illawarra supporters to vent at Wests Tigers half Tim Moltzen. But have Dragons fans responded?

Slightly sluggish ticket sales have been recorded so far for tomorrow night's clash at Jubilee Oval. As of late yesterday, more than 4000 tickets remained for the clash, the Dragons' first home match of the season.

And while the Dragons' performance in their round-two defeat at the hands of Canterbury was poor, most expected Moltzen's appearance at Kogarah - for the first time since he turned his back on the club in favour of staying with the Tigers late last year - would be enough for the ''house full'' sign to be erected.

The Moltzen saga caused a major rift between the two clubs, and the significance of it was such there was even speculation the match could be transferred to Sydney Football Stadium or the Sydney Cricket Ground as a result of the hostility aimed at the 23-year-old.

But so far, just over 15,000 tickets have been sold.

The fact the Dragons' season has begun with news of more player losses - last week the club's NSW representative Beau Scott signed with former coach Wayne Bennett's Newcastle - has only heightened anger at Moltzen.

''We're dirty because, from our understanding, the deal was in place and … now that we've got a couple of other players being taken from our club, we're pretty filthy,'' Dragons Army spokesman Peter Trad said this week.

At least yesterday the Dragons managed to secure one of their own, re-signing rookie Nathan Green until the end of the 2014 season. The 19-year-old made his NRL debut in last Saturday night's defeat, and is seen as a centre of the future.

I hope they remembered to submit the contract with the NRL…
