OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

I agree. He was ok today and yes he would have been better off staying put. poorly advised in my opinion
I thought he went OK. Sure he made mistakes, but most of those occurred when they where urgently chasing the game in the second half. His contribution was light years ahead of anything Sexton or Burton did.

As for him staying put - I think his development will have progressed greatly by playing in the finals, as opposed to watching the last few weeks, downing schooeys in the Macarthur Tavern with his mates.

Not sure Lachy learned anything that will make him a better player from that. He has been rated their best player in a poorly beaten side - hasn't that always been the case for Lachy and plays like he believes it.
While the players that got them into that position played like they didn't know each other and or couldn't wait to get out of there - re the two that were tapped.
Why the coach thought it was a good idea to throw the players in that he dumped - to accommodate Galvin- in the most important game of the season was going to work and is saying he wouldn't of changed anything - he and Galvin cut from the same cloth.

In hindsight, Ivan did the right thing.
Agreed. I hated him at the time but I don’t think the Tigers would have been heading for back to back premierships with Ivan. We didn’t have the players or the depth (or the Board). Although that may have changed if we’d had him for longer. Who knows and who cares now 🤣

Actually Manly are slowly growing on me ....maybe because we occasionally beat them now ......Lachie for me .....Dogs are my arch enemies now
I can move on from Galvin now after they bombed yesterday and getting the win against them a few weeks ago. I don’t care about them next year. I do enjoy watching Parra get belted though. Unfortunately I think they are headed for better things next year. As long as we can beat them I’m happy.

Interesting how fast Galvin is when there is a try in the offing and then how slow he is when he needs to make a cover tackle. I don't hate the guy; however, I do believe he is only interested in "being the man" rather than make those around him better. That cut out pass that went behind Kiraz and the tap on that he knocked on as well as other passes he has thrown that have led to other players making errors only reinforce his attitude is all about himself. We saw it at the tigers when he would pop up on both sides of the attack and then cramp our centres and wingers, he actually reverted to doing that toward the back end of the game against the panthers and was able to nail a few decent passes, however every good thing was offset by 3 or 4 poor things, just like he did with us.

It was a bizaare and highly disrupted finals series for the dogs...so much chopping and changing they looked utterly lost yesterday even after a strong start

Sexton couldn't get to into the game. They had one move Galvin to Preston. Even the killer bombs that Burton terrorized the opposition with during the season - uncited. Their kick chase and line speed was always key to their strengths. That's attitude - totally missing.
Whether they were coaches instructions or not they did not play like a cohesive team and Lachy looked like he had been given the keys.
Reminded me of Wests Tigers when Galvin was with us - poor team performance but Galvin individually produced enough to be noticed.

Yet at the time 12 weeks into the season they led the comp and had second best f/a
True, but as has been pointed out, they had a soft draw early.

Round 12 saw them smashed 44-8 by the Dolphins.
Galvin arrived a fortnight later.
Narrow losses to Penrith & Brisbane seem to have led Ciraldo into the decision to drop Sexton for round 20.
Galvin’s first two games as starting half produced wins over Saints & Manly.
Wests then destroyed their season in round 22 🤣

Interesting points. Seems to prove the point that it’s not easy to have a team pumped and primed to produce its best every week like Panthers and Storm. That considered, wouldn’t surprise me if we see a Sharks vs Broncos GF.

Hope the little dweeb enjoyed jumping in on a winning team/culture that he took no part in building. Probably thought he would walk in there and everything would smell of flowers and roses. Instead, he walked in on a system that doesn't suit him and with players he doesn't gel with. Now the fans hate him and he'll be pushing crap uphill all pre season until he can deliver consistent performances on the field.

You can almost bet that there are some quietly disgruntled Bulldogs players who will never say it out loud, but are fuming on the inside. Hope it was worth it.
Agree about disgruntled players
Sexon and Mahoney didn’t play anywhere near how they were before Galvin arrival.
Yesterday Burton in the centre’s didn’t have his normal involvement.
To me the coach wears all the blame for the end of season slump.
I’m still happy we are not in debt to Galvin at 1 million a season 👏
Best decision he made this year was not signing that contract 😂
