OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Finally a journalist has seen the light. Malcolm Knox of the SMH, owned by Channel 9. Take it away Malcolm:

“His crime? All he’d done was break his contract and walk out on the struggling club that had given him his chance, mid-season, to scarper to a high-placed team where he thought he might win a premiership.

Yes, he’s very young and probably prone to all sorts of seductions and influences, and he tries his guts out every week to make it right, but even if you feel sorry for him, there’s a special place in rugby league hell for the deserter.

What is a little odd, given the Tigers’ and Bulldogs’ trajectories since Galvin’s move, is that Tigers fans would be angry. Shouldn’t they be happy?

Again on Saturday, Galvin was busy and ambitious, but repeatedly, when the crunch came, not quite good enough. The lesson from these 12 months is that Galvin isn’t the player he was thought to be, or not yet anyway, maybe never was or will be, and none of that is his fault.

His arrival upset the good thing the Bulldogs had going until last June; if anyone should be booing, it might be them.

The booing on Saturday did fall silent, late in an entertaining game, when the Bulldogs attacked and the Tigers’ fans couldn’t boo because their mouths had their hearts in them. But Galvin and the Dogs fluffed their last-tackle options again. The Tigers’ supporters ought to have been quietly gloating, but that doesn’t make much of a noise.

Over-praised and over-pressured, Galvin and his dramas diverted focus from how the NRL is producing some genuine wunderkind playmakers in their early twenties.

Isaiya Katoa (Dolphins), Ethan Strange (Canberra), Joey Walsh (Manly) and Liam Sutton (Cowboys) are among the rising tide of young playmakers, not to mention Sam Walker (Roosters), at the top of the game and still only 23.”

Exit Clause is a two-year-old Thoroughbred racehorse trained by Jason Coyle at Warwick Farm in Sydney.[1]
The gelding was sired by stallion Zousain out of the mare Rockaway Princess. He is jointly owned by a syndicate that includes Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs NRL player Lachlan Galvin, who had a little fun with his horse's name during his high-profile contract saga with the Wests Tigers. A little fun … 🙄
I initially read the mare’s name as Runaway Princess. Would have been very suitable

He was fairly quiet for the most part. Kicked one dead at a critical moment but scored a pretty important try apart from those moments would hardly know he was on the field

Cant understand why he does most of the kicking. Burton is elite.

Just another question I would like to hear the dogs super coach answer.
Seriously could you imagine the feedback on this forum if he was coaching our team with the changes he has made over the last 12 months.
1. Upset 2 of your spine and tell them they can move on
2. Your best attacking player (Preston) move him from right to left 2nd row and his tries dry up and he loses a spot in the state of origin team.
3. Burton has the biggest kick (up and under) in the game but swaps kicking duties to Galvin.
4. Swapped centres side Crichton and Xerri with no benefit to either or the team.
5. Bring in a new attacking coach who coached the worst attacking team the year before.

Crichton xerri swap looks like it was to move crichton away from Galvin. Moving preston was an odd one...maybe the hospital passes from Galvin meant too many injuries....that whole team is being shifted around on account of the subborness of ghould and ciro to play galvin at 7.

I'm with you
So many fundamental changes that were always destined to achieve very little except disruption
In the words of another coach..
There's gotta be an investigation!
Can't help but think Ciraldo will be looking tired during the off season..
They deserve each other tbh

Nothing on channel 9 footy show tonight about tiger's and dogs game, poor gus looks uncomfortable he might have to answer questions about dogs form, don't worry gus channel 9 are protecting you, haven't watched nrl 360 yet, I bet they talked about the dogs

Yes they did and our interim CEO Shaun was on heavy hitters segment at the end.
That’s the first time I’ve really listened to him. He’s a bit different but what I liked is that his demeanor changed when talking about how close knit the squad is. He seemed almost chuffed with this. I think these values will lead to success.

It's showing with all the extensions, it's good to finally see after all the years of dread, players wanting to stay at the club.

Just wish Sam's extension would get done, dragging on a bit, very important piece of future success.
