Las Vegas or Lost Wages NRL 2024

Dumb marketing and that ad looks amateur. Our strength as a sport is speed, technique, end to end action and unpredictable storylines. They should have showcased that rather than pretending to be an NFL alternative.

It is somewhat the correct approach, however telling the most arrogant sports fans on the planet to suck eggs never works out well.
Americans are always blown away that the collisions in our sport are largely unprotected…just don’t call their guys pussies at the same time.

There are several other parts of RL that eclipse NFL which should be communicated.
1. The non stop action. Our blokes play under fatigue constantly. NFL has a huge amount of rest breaks.
2. Endurance. Our blokes are involved in all facets of the game. NFL has special teams.
3. Multi skilled. Our blokes can tackle, pass, run, a lot can kick in general play, quite a few can goal kick….you have to be well rounded as a player.
4. Decision making under fatigue. NFL is very technical and tactical, however decisions are made through committee a lot during the incredible amount of stoppages in play. Our playmakers can do it on the fly, under fatigue and quickly. It has been said that NFL playmakers are playing chess out there. If so, our playmakers play speed chess whilst running a marathon.

You have to tell them they are getting a similar type of product with some adjustments and that may bring the crowds.
If we can break into this market, the game can really grow fast over there.

Well observed, I agree a good pitch.

I watched a NFL grand final and a running back scored a try, A commentator asked "is that valid" as for some reason passing to a back was being disallowed. The other commentator said "I have no idea!".

^That's sad. Really sad.

America is that big, it could work.

Must admit I did a double take when I heard who the four reps were they sent over w
Included Sharon... Nice bloke and good personality yeah, and that's about it...

Haha, doesn't hold back - keeps on going.

I find all this America stuff cringe as, it's never going to kick on there. Waste of time.
Not a complete waste imo. It’s such a huge population base, you only have to convert a small percentage and the extra tv rights for the nrl could be a solid income earner.

Woodsy has been weaseling his way back into media gigs over the last season but was still surprised to see him get picked to go over there.

Isn't he on a second tier contract next season in which case Manly are probably not that worried about him missing a bit of pre-season training.
