I get your point, but on that night, Hodgeson ran back towards 10,000 ballistic Tigers fans. Benji was running back to no1 at an away game. Just didn't come across well.

Good on him. And if there were still 40 seconds to go he could have wasted every one of them with the dropout and not have to take it.
It's very much a gridiron type play, 'taking a knee'.
 
Very smart. I don't know why more teams don't do the same in the same situation. What if he tried to kick it out and shanks it into a Warriors players arms and they score. It's not unsportsman like at all. It is nothing different to kicking it out, just smarter.

benji did the smart thing. he only threw the ball at the warriors' player because he got pushed by him
 
Thought it was great. Good on him… Maybe instead of running it dead just kick the crap out of it over the sideline rugby union style...

it uses up more time what benji did
 
after seeing it on replay i think to say that Brown pushed him is kind of an exaggeration.IMO it was just a love-tap and if anything,Marshall over-reacted by throwing the ball

Did you see his kick only a few minutes earlier where all we had to do was plonk it in there corner?
Off the side of the boot and Warriors end up with another chance and great field position.
Just ground it….same thing as running it dead.
 
why was he jogging and looking back anyway? he should have just put the foot down and sprinted over the dead-ball line.Didn't have any reason to time waste considering you get 40 seconds to take the drop out
 
Was there a hint of an eye-gouge by Benji on Russell Packer in the full-time scuffle? Only a little one but I hope we don't hear more about it? I'm hoping they are mates and Benji was mucking around but he def did rake his eye…

It all started with the push on Farah on tackle 1 of the last set which should have been a penalty IMHO … I hate time wasting but after that I thought stuff em just blatantly wind it down and they did. Couldnt believe what I was seeing when Benji ran backwards it was hilarious. He reacted to being shoved into the sponsor signs which was fair enough OK it wasnt a good look but it was better than thumping him which I would have done ...
