probably something to do with playing in the middle at hooker. seen that ear one happen in junior union games, rucks/mauls etc. quite a bit

its obviously because he's the weakest link. you dont want teddy running back at you every time, richards is a mountain and reasonably safe so you target a short inexperienced bloke. i reckon nofa and hoeter would cop the same treatment. nofa maybe a little less but still
