Lawrence: too early to rule out Tigers

Rowdy said Blair came to us as the worlds best prop….......
So why are we playing him at lock or as a wide running back rower ?
There's your answer IMHO

We don't have enough front row grunt or back row aggression to trouble the top sides.
Plus we have moltzen.
7 to 13th I reckon rowdy.

I think Moltzen might have a good year - however i agree with your other point - we just don't have the forward power to trouble the top sides - i'm thinking we will finish closer to 13 than 7.

Moltz won't make the top 17 when Teddy is right

You have to give us a chance still it was only a trail and were under a new coach we might take a couple of rounds before we click **but im sure we will be in the 8 were to good of a team not to.**

Blind passion. We're no better team this yr than we were last yr and where did we finish? Still have no established fb or hb either

How can you say we are no better than last year purely based on trial games we have witnessed?
I would go out on a limb and say we are better than last year. But the first half of the season will back that up.

Because trial form is meaningless. If it meant anything then in 2011 Parra would have finished in the top 4 and we should have finished 15th cos they absolutely carved us like a turkey that night and looked like a million bucks in doing so. As it turned out we were the ones who finished in the top 4 and Parra were the ones who finished 15th. Wasn't much of a guide was it

We may be no better team than last year (your opinion not mine), though last season we had an injury list that would have had any team in the league floundering. By that reasoning alone if this years team is on par with last years and we are not cursed with as extreme an injury toll as last year we should go at least a few wins better.

Also, as with many fans I wasnt too sure about the Braith signing, but the more I think about it, the more I like it. We need that extra general when Farrah is hustling to every play-the-ball and the boys are bunching, or driving the guys down the park in a straight line, the guy has alot to offer us….

At the moment I think we just need those few games to rewatch tape and understand how the player next to them moves and makes decisions... we will be ok.

By not having Sheens and his moronic team selections makes us a better team,I am not giving up just yet.

Agree 100%. By all reports Blair has put on weight for this season. He definitely should be playing prop. His tackling style is suited to prop and if he concentrates on running straight, as a prop should do, he will have a great year. We have a great number of locks and second rowers other who can do a better job than Blair in those positions. Come on Mick shows astuteness and courage and choose Blair in the front row.

i have a feeling he's already made plans to play him there…
but...
it wont be as 8 or 10.. he will start wide.. then move into the middle when galloway/woods has a rest...

I think injuries and the lack of experienced front row depth will definitely force this to happen.

I agree with you , even lacking match fitness is still a better option than Moltz , Tedesco is a natural fullback.

I don't understand this statement, do you mean because we did'nt go out and buy Cooper Cronk and Billy Slater we don't have an established HB & FB? We have HBs at the club and HBs at the club. Yes ok they've not played 100 FG games but neither had Reynolds and Barba, so i just see this as a an argument.

I'm not saying we will win the comp or even make the top 8 but to say we will struggle without giving the current playing group under a new coach a chance is harsh. What other options are there and what do you want as a fan? A 100% guarantee?

I think you have misunderstood my post - I am saying that you can't judge a team's potential/form based on trial games. Exactly what you have stated, if trial games meant anything than Parra would have been in the top 4\. What I am trying to get across is that you can judge whether we are a better team or not after the first half of the season barring injuries.

What I believe GNR is saying is that we don't have an established FB or HB at the **TIGERS**, Teddy has been lucky to play 1 game with this side, Miller maybe 3 or 4\. However neither position has had a player play there for a good chunk of a season - Moltz irrelevant as he isn't a natural FB and has never looked comfortable yet established a role there.
