Lawrence & Woods out for the season

Wests Tigers have today had two players ruled out for the remainder of the 2013 Telstra Premiership.
Centre Chris Lawrence (ankle) and prop Aaron Woods (knee) will undergo surgery this week.

“Chris has bravely been carrying a right ankle injury for the past few weeks. Rather than risking a long time out of the game, the club doctor recommended today for Chris to be operated on immediately to enable him to have an extended recovery period ahead of next season,’’ Coach Mick Potter said.

“Aaron suffered the knee injury in the loss to the Warriors a few weeks back at Leichhardt Oval. The injury has proven harder to heal than first expected and it is unfortunate he will miss the rest of the season as he has been great for us all year.”

Marika Koroibete will be returning into the NRL side in Round 22\. I would expect he would come onto the wing and Tim Simona will play centre

Sad that it means Ayshford gets to keep pretending to play football for us but Lawrence was not doing himself any favours out there

To me this confirms both of these players are important members of our club. I thought chris was just starting to get back into some form and this injury confirms why he has been off the past few weeks. Aaron is, well Aaron. Great decision for both boys to be operated on now and have long restful off seasons.
Fresh and firing for 2014

Builds the case for the second tier cap exemption.

I hope so.

I also believe that Lote coming back in the centres for NSW Cup speaks to the plan to dump Ayshford as soon as possible

"Chris has bravely been carrying a right ankle injury for the past few weeks" really sums up our coaching and medical staff. It was apparent to all and sundry that Chris has been carrying this injury for more than a few weeks, Why did they have him hobbling around the field week in and week out when they knew that he was carrying this debilitating injury?

Let them rest up this wasn't our season. I am glad to hear Lawrence was going through games with an injury and not playing that badly for any other reason (you guys Know what I mean). Rest up for 2014 boys :sign:

Good luck to both and recover completely.

IMO last chance for Lawrence to get back to full confidence if not fitness

Seriously this isnt funny anymore…if its not his hip its his hamstring, if its not his hamstring its his shoulder, if its not his shoulder its his ankle. If after 6 months off i hear he's "carrying" and injury ill go crazy.

I am happy with this, I've said a few times now that Lawrence should be rested, Woods can also benefit.

Neither of them will benefit from playing the final 5 games at this point. Start rehab now and look to the future.

I noticed that Lawrence didn't seem right , when he came out for the 2nd half vs the Titans .
Good decision to act now and get them fixed up , so hopefully they will be right to go (pre-season).
Lawrence has had massive bad luck with injuries. Brooks will be a definite against the Eels.

I guess we can all get off Lawrence's back for just a little while now. I believe he will come back a decent center and we need him. Hope koro explodes again, and brooks looks like getting a run.
Sucks that ayshford looks like playing, would've dropped him as well and looked for the future maybe showing Rudolph some FG at least we would have a goal kicker

Newtown, have you met 2nd Tier Salary Cap? Salary Cap, Newtown. Newtown, Salary cap.

right, well that explains a bit about Rowdy's lack of speed. Hope he and Woods are fit and firing for next year.

Lawrence has been suffering an ankle injuries for months this isn't news he has even said so himself on twitter a few times -why r any of u surprised
