Just when you think this fella finds form and a place in the team he buckles over and stumbles his way off the field. Reminded me straight away of last years much loved Melbourne cup horse red cadioux.
When the team is struggling he's not the guy that can get you out of trouble win a big run. In fact its quite the opposite he usually gets smashed. That's why its so important to have an enforser in your team. It seems once our skipper goes off we lose the forwards battle.
Its so important that we obtain or groom someone that can be that sort of role for the team. It would also help out rowdy in his game of a 80 min forward.

If I'm not mistaken he was shifted from back row to centre when Halatal was rested? .Not his best game but the bloke always tries I got yo give him that.

Rowdy is pretty much done to be honest ..has no real impact and gets dominated most of the time ,,the injury gods will probable step in next season .An off field role would be ideal as he is a smart guy and someone the club could use on many levels .

He does run some good lines when we are going good but for most part he does get owned carting the ball forward.
last night was a good example of this.

I'd love him to be a Luke Lewis sort of player but Rowdy is far from getting there sadly

Im not saying we lost the game because of his performance last night. Bulk of the players were below par last night. Some worse than others though

It's really tough because he tries hard each week and puts his body on the line. Unfortunately due to injuries his pace has gone and he isn't dynamic enough in the second row. Have to keep him for now as he is better than the alternative of Lovett but i think the end is near. Lets wrap him up and put him away until next year. Let him have his operations to get better and we will see how he goes. Atleast he is a good role model and can teach the young guys coming through.

Lawrence had a poor game last night wasn't on his own..still one of the first forwards back to take the dirty hit up..runs that tough line in attack..

1st full season playing back row..playing 80 most weeks..

There's no greater Rowdy fan than me. I happened to be at Leichhardt Oval on the day when he dislocated his hip. I've never seen a hush descend on a crowd as it did when he was wheeled off on a stretcher.

Now I'm more worried about his head and the fact that he is getting bashed too often by oppositions. Chris' head is worth more than most footballers, he's a very bright young man.

Lawrence has done well this season.

However like people said his body is beaten up.

He can prob hang in there for another year or two.

However the modern game is about size and power and speed.

he is being left behind but he is hanging on. He plays tough you have to give him that.

There is a need for an enforcer type second rower, Josh Jackson, Boyd Cordiner, Dale Finucane, Gavin Cooper.
Someone with a bit of mongrel in them.
Rowdy is too nice a guy type.

I was hoping this thread was an update to his possible injury from last night.
Instead it's just an avenue for anyone to rip into our most consistant forward for the year.
Shame on you all. Chris is all effort.
His not a Centre anymore though so I suppose you now can see why lovett gets moved there instead.
Be nice if we could of played chee cam to cover, but due to second tier can't.
I guess the good side of that is we aren't paying much at all for chee cam.
Hopefully the top 25 is a bit different next year.
