Leichhardt expensive grass

I questioned the club after the last Leichhardt game and was told by one of their marketing geniuses that's it's a supply and demand issue. Taking my family is just too expensive.

Well sadly that's probably true. MNF against a non-Sydney team and they still got 18k. That's probably going to be an ongoing trade-off of playing at Leichhardt and Campbelltown.

Oh and can a mod please fix the spelling of Leichhardt in the thread title. It's hurting my eyes!

When you get a membership it works out to less than $20 a game.

Fixed Yoss.

What does GA cost at the SFS or at Homebush? $25? If you can't find an extra five bucks to watch football at the best ground in the comp then the club can probably manage without you, sad though it is to say.

Leichhardt the best ground in the comp? Serious???

If the SFS and Homebush is $25, then $30 is a rort at Leichhardt. The SFS and Homebush provide you a seat, state of the art amenities and in some cases, rain coverage. The hill at Leichhardt does not provide these services.

Gary, thats obviously his opinion, and he's probably come to that conclusion based on a different criteria to you. Let's not get into a pissing contest about which is the best ground in the NRL, everyone will have different opinions.

Maybe the best ground for the players and ex balmain fans the players love playing there as we win most of our games.Only drama i have with leichhardt is the toilets they need fixing they been the same since the mid 70s.

yes bogan i agree

18,000 watching two mediocre teams go round on a Monday night suggests there's plenty that favour Leichhardt. I'd rather stand on the hill than bounce around an eighth-full Homebush, even when the atmosphere is crap (as it was last night, admittedly). Anyway, the club's entitled to charge whatever it can get away with - $30 to watch the best players in the game is a complete steal compared with virtually any other sport you care to mention.

Homebush is a terrible ground to watch footy at. Leichhardt is certainly a better environment but as you point out the facilities aren't as great… Anyway as suggested above, the key part is the supply/demand issue.

Fair enough - I wasn't trying to start that either. Some people want atmosphere and a short walk to half-decent pubs, others want no queue at the burger stand and, I dunno, cup holders or something. Each to their own. My only points are that if the club can get 18,000+ on a Monday night despite no away fans, mediocre form at best, cold weather and $30 admission then (a) there's obviously not too much wrong with the ground in many fans' opinions and (b) the club is not overcharging.

I must have been at a different Leichhardt Oval as the one i was at the atmosphere was awesome, well it was where we were sitting.

Unfortunaltey and i say this after experiencing many games and crowds that Tigers fans to coin a phrase Only Sing When They Are Winning unlike a lot of other teams. Panthers at CT the other week outsung us and all the Tiger chants that when up were started by them.

Newcastle fans last night were very vocal and the best i've experienced have the been the Sharkies who all just sing and chant all through the game regardless of the score. Also what they don't do and I heard this all night last night is slag off their own players. Regardless of what you may post on here or what your opinion is of say..oh Beau Ryan, keep your opinion to yourself while he is on the field wearing the Black,White and Gold.

A good mate of mine is a Sea Bogan and he's a member of the CSSC (Cronulla Sharks Supporters Club.) They are an absolute hoot to watch at Shark Park. That game in 2009 when we flogged them 58-10 I was sitting next to them with a bunch of Tigers fans and they absolutely gave it to us. Anytime they score and set up for goal they do the spirit fingers and its hilarious to watch. They also travel to most of the away games in Sydney, I sat with them at the Sharks V Pamfers game a year or two ago and while the locals couldn't see the humour in it, it was a lot of fun.

i'd pay $50 to stand on the hill at leichhardt

$20 for the SFS and they would have to pay me to go to ANZzzzzzzzzzzz
