Leichhardt oval's end

THE PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH GETTING TO L.O CANNOT BE IGNORED, I ONCE DROVE THERE A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO WITH THE KIDS, THEN GOT OUT OF THE PLACE AFTER NOT FINDING A PARKING SPOT.

THERE REALLY IS NO OPTION FOR DRIVING THERE,

ON- AND OFF-STREET PARKING IS VIRTUALLY NON EXISTENT AND THERE ISN'T A TRAIN STATION NEARBY. SO THE ONLY OPTION IS TO TRAVEL THERE IS BY BUS AND HOW RELIABLE ARE THEY THESE DAYS? YOU WOULD WANT TO ALLOW 2-3 HOURS OF TRAVELLING TIME AND THEN THERES ALSO THE HASSLE OF TRAVELLING BACK HOME.

THE ONLY NEARBY PARKING STATION THAT I KNOW OF IS THIS ONE WHICH ONLY HAS 220 SPACES.

No problems if you know where to park and don't mind a 10 minute walk... Plenty street parking

I thought that the walking time would have taken a lot longer if i parked around the City west link rd area, but after checking with google maps,
Don't mind a 10-15 mins walk, should be okay next time, thanks.

As someone who works in construction, I’d be interested in how much this upgrade will cost. Given the field is used by various codes, everyone should be chipping in.

The government should offer Darcy a deal.

Will fund Leichhardt and turn Callan park into public spaces.

He just needs to allow the same land space in the local council area to hold apartments more than 10 stories high

Just a big congratulations to Tigers fans. I had free tickets and I didn't go, but 10k of you did. Pretty miserable day, we've been ordinary all season and even worse lately, against an out of town team and 10k show up. This club doesn't deserve you beautiful fans, but you all are the very best! Well done, champions!

And it must have been a belated St Patricks day celebration as most of them were in green

What happened to this great club?
There was a time when it had character and soul.
There was a time when fans felt like part of the club.

Absolutely fantastic, especially for us old Balmain boys.
He was definitely unique, loyal and passionate.
But there were/are a lot of us who feel/ felt that way.
But it’s now 2022 and we move forward as WT.
Let’s agree to replicate that passion in future years.
Maybe a good idea to show the players what real commitment to a jersey is.
Go Tigers !

Glenn Morrison bogs gonna finally get some soap 🔥

This was in the SMH

there are whispers of a new stadium deal with the NSW government which would keep the decider in Sydney for the next decade.

Under the proposal, which has reached senior ministerial level, the government would upgrade Penrith Stadium rather than doing a full rebuild on the adjacent harness racing club site.

The money saved would be used to upgrade suburban grounds, enabling the NRL to save face and deliver a result to the clubs. In return, the NRL would commit to holding the grand final in Sydney for the next 10 years.

The recent brawl between the government and NRL has shown there is little public support for stadium funding, so the package will need to be sold publicly as a win for taxpayers who won’t have to pay up to $10million a year to keep the grand final in Sydney.

I think it's just a scare campaign at this stage. There's a State election in March 2023. Pressure will be put on Dom Perrottet and Chris Minns to provide funding. There's a lot of water to flow under the bridge before this is done.
Neither are game to spend dollars on footy grounds while people are doing it so tough.
Wait until after the election they have 4 years until the next election hopefully people will forget that they broke their promise and they will still vote for them.

There is something that a football ground /hill provides that nothing else can. Taking your kids there early so they can run around with other kids, a scoreboard that's not electronic, a hot dog stand, a beer tent, then when it's crowded at kick-off the crowd moves as one.
That's how I was raised at LO.
Wests boys and girls probably feel the same way for Lidcombe.
Our game is changing to suit the TV and the TAB ☹️ Let's not be confined to a seat or a pen. Freedom!!
