Leilua Floored by ‘Biggest Spray’ of Career

Idk but I think that is the more intimidating approach. Instead of an emotionally charged spray, straight after the game, you get the tap on the shoulder the next day that the principal wants to see you in his office, when you’ve had time to think about it. Often, the thought of the reaction you’re going to get is worse than the reaction itself.

Joey probably had nightmares the day before training knowing it was coming 😂

Also I like how he says the boys could hear Madge, that’s how loud he was. Then in the next sentence says what was said was between he and Madge is between them. Clearly not Joey.

Between them as in in-house ..Leilau was not going to elaborate to the media what was actually said..

As it should be..

I'm glad the team could hear Madge yelling. Hopefully it sends a clear message to the overpaid chumps that have been comfortably lazy on our payroll for too long. Everyone should be on notice. I'm also glad he a had a crack at the refs too and their lack of consistency, it's obviously something that's eating some players up.

Obviously. But it shows how ridiculous football cliche’s can make you look.

More talk out of tiger town.

I need to be better, we aren’t up to standard, we don’t accept where we are on the ladder, we are a top 8 team etc etc

Talk is cheap

This could be a defining moment in Joey's career. I emphasise the word could.

Yep...all opposition players need to do is target Lucy ...

So the coach gives him the biggest spray about a foolish play, but says nothing regarding LM swinging closed fist during the press conference. Nothing to see here folks

Yes agree there it does seem inconsistent what was he hoping for thinking that maybe Reynolds would not get a suspension.
Or was he playing up to Latrell to show him he is'nt a bad bloke and reputation precedes him in the hope of luring him after next contract expires?

He deserved a spray and a flogging for the next 4 weeks.

Let’s hope so.

I bet Ricky Stuart is having a quiet chuckle at the "Biggest spray of my career" quote.

Because the spray is private and the pressers is not. Losing your mind at the press conference does nothing and the best coaches don't rise to the bait at pressers.

Literally, the top coaches always bite their tongues. It's also a bad example to start pointing blame elsewhere, because it gives the players a scapegoat and has you not looking inwards for the solutions to the losses.

Tigers didn't lose because Latrell Mitchell had 2 high shots.

Exactly. He's got more pressing issues than refs and other teams players.
