I found this just before and thought I'd post it. SMH is the only place I can see that's mentioned it so it might be nothing but anyway.
**Hawaiian Les Soloai catches Wests Tigers' eye**
The Tomahawks' towering Hawaiian Les Soloai has attracted interest from Wests Tigers and Widnes, according to team management.
The problem with this United States team was that players were drawn from everywhere but the two domestic competitions Stateside. But after one game an American man has attracted interest from professional clubs.
Soloai is one of the Hawaiians uncovered in recent games played near Honolulu. The one 12 months ago, against a Queensland Aborigines side, was threatened by a tsunami.
"We're talking to (Widnes coach) Denis Betts about him and the Wests Tigers connection is our back rower Eddy Pettybourne," said team manager Steven Johnson.
"That's what this is about. You put domestic players with professionals in a team environment and they get to show their best.
"He has paid his way to a lot of things, gone to a lot of trouble, to make this team and it may be about to pay off for him."
