I think you are right, probably why he has played a lot of reggies over the years, his effort on the weekend is not going to get him recalled, probably lucky if he isn't moved out for Heleta to slot back in at fullback.

I don’t think you need to assume Tui gets stuck in reserves. He was guilty of trying too hard yesterday and made error after error when we needed to hold the ball and kick to the corners. Put his team under pressure and they paid the price eventually. Ivan wouldn’t have been impressed as it’s exactly the type of play we are trying to move away from. I think heleta is a better option at 1\. I expect Thompson to put the issue beyond doubt today.

I think tui only got a run because of his goal kicking anyway.

Are we talking about saturdays ISP game against north’s?
His defence on the line was shocking.
He is a long way off making a return to first grade.
I was in his corner before the season kicked off but the only thing he has brought to the team is goal kicking.
He was involved in 3 or 4 poor reads on the line and also dropped of 2 tackles that lead to try’s.
Thompson on the other hand had a blinder not a thing to criticise in his game.

I watched him closely in the Norths game he must be playing injured he looked to be labouring around the field, Thomson is so far in front of him it isnt funny, he's quick his backing up is on point. The only thing Tui offers over Thomson is goal kicking you simply cant be in the team on that alone. I hope he gets fit and really fit and gives Ivan a selection headache.
