As unpopular and politically incorrect as it sounds i firmly believe that if Balmain die they should take the tiger with them. When Wests and Balmain came together Balmain bought the tiger brand and Wests the name. All the Wests die hards have been sweating on a chance to take over and bring back the magpie. Well as sad as it is, the wish may be granted so i say that the NRL and Wests Magpies should get on with it.

You're kidding, right? The club is the Wests Tigers. It's not Balmain and Wests FFS!
If Balmain goes under, the club is still the Wests Tigers! I thought we were over this crap.

If the team isn't Wests Tigers then I'm sure the NRL will take the license and use it for Brisbane 2 or Perth, which will carry neither the Tiger nor the Magpie on its logo. Then they will carve up the areas probably giving the south west to the dogs or penrith and the inner west to dogs, parra or even souths.

What an absolute moronic OP. Sick to death of this perception that its only people from the Magpies who have never moved. So, there's a minority who are stuck in the past, so what? you going to sit there with a straight face and say there aren't a few bitter old Balmain fans who would loving nothing more than to see WT's revert back to Balmain? pfft yeah right. No one ever complains about those people though.

Its been 15 yrs and people still can't see the club as one. At least if WT's do go under we won't have to listen to this BS anymore.

I've only been a Wests Tigers Fan for 10 years, so i've only known the Wests TIGERS. If Balmain went under and the Wests Tigers kept the Tiger name i would still continue my strong support as if nothing had changed. However if they were to bring it back to the magpie i would be extremely disappointed and it would feel as if i was supporting an entirely different team and would probably find it hard to continue my support. Am i wrong in thinking this and feeling this way?

And what of all those kids who have grown up with no baggage, only supporting Wests TIGERS..since 2000….what about them?

I totally understand, i was a balmain supporter for 25yrs leading into the JV and have followed the team interstate, overseas and even have the tattoo. However no matter what what is said about me by others on this forum about my feelings the fact is that the tigers without the balmain link is the end for me and us such i would like the tiger buried with balmain like the bear and norths and the jets with newtown!!!! If that makes me an idiot than guilty as charged!!

What i have always admired about this forum is the respect for others opinions. Regardless my moronic post stands. There are many balmain fans that have embraced the WT and given their heart and soul but recent developments have opened an old wound,
