I suppose you were premature in essentially condemning the season as more of the same?

LOL, wouldn't have a clue who you are champ but you obviously seem to follow my posts closely?
Anyway, I was very angry after both Souths game this season. Made a few angry posts after each as did many fans. However for the most part I have been pretty positive and made numerous posts congratulating the team on their changed mentality this season. I predicted at the start of the season we would come 6th.
Do you want me to go through and find them all for you bud?
Or do you want me to apoligise again for underestimating the team at times this season?
Following me around suggests I might of got under your skin a little over the season? Anyway mate, I have been negative over the years, but 95% were due to the results we were getting and most was constructive.
I'm very happy thee team is doing well buddy whether you think so or not
@TimmyB said:Wait a second, because I have noticed your posts before I´m following you around? Whether or not you like the fact, you are one of the most vociferously negative posters around. It´s pretty easy to recall the general theme of your posts.
Anyway, I don´t actually believe anyone wants to see the team and Sheens fail. I find that suggestion as preposterous and insulting. I just find it a little frustrating that 3 weeks ago someone who was starting a thread about Sheens missing the top 8 returns when a top 4 position is sealed with a lengthy post about what the difference was this year. Surely those differences were present four weeks ago?
Perhaps you have been a little more positive this year. Overall, it´s become so damn monotonous that it´s hard to say. Anyway. I appreciate the effort for a response. If nothing else, you always think out your replies - unlike others who prefer to align themselves to other posters with snide comments and emoticons.

Its interesting that - John Morris was indeed a very stilted player for us, didn't fit into our side all that well, however he has been going gangbusters over at Cronulla, as their permanent hooker and dummy half. Suits their team style much better.
@Geo. said:They weren't justified when you consider a week is a long time in footy..
In 2007 2008 2009 were not epic fails IMO we were close and if the little things had accumulated in those Melbourne Storm Rorting years we probably have played finals in at least 2….
Have a look at the team thread for this week and nothing has changed and they haven't even kicked off yet... :unamused:

Eddie's posts have always been well thought out, and hardly monotonous, or vociferously negative as you have suggested. It's called constructive criticism, and based on this clubs performances and results from 2006-2009, Eddie's (and many others) posts were completely warranted.
**Posts that suggest fans who take the time to post on a Tigers internet forum actually want to see the team fail – now this is what I would consider vociferously negative and actually quite pathetic.**
Anyway, a month ago we threw away a game to an understrength Souffs side, and based on our finishes to the season between 2006 - 2009, any negative/downbeat posts at that time were completely justified. To Sheens' and the clubs credit, we have buckled down and come out a much better side, and everyone is completely over the moon with the finish to this season. Yet someone like Eddie starts a positive thread congratulating the team on this, and you come in and take the moral high ground, hijack the thread with rubbish, and snide remarks then accuse others of doing the same.
And if you're referring to me as someone who posts snide comments and emoticons, you'd be wrong. I have often been highly critical of our coaching staff and club, but I would like to think that I give credit where credit is due, and that I always back up any criticisms. Your first post in this thread didn't deserve anything other than an emoticon.

For the bold bit, I absolutely agree with that. I find those suggestions absurd and downright peurile. Ive stated that as above.
I may have been a little rash in my comment. However, for a couple of years these boards have been overwhelmed by pessismism and criticism. This in turn has lead to - in my mind - some pretty harsh appraisals of Sheens. In my opinion they have far exceeded what was justified. I would like to think that at least some of those views have categorically proven as incorrect. Whatever the record of the previous years, we are currently in a position to win the premiership. In my opinion, all the calls for Sheens sacking will look pretty silly. You may argue they were justifed at the time, but in my opinion that is pretty poor excuse. The fact that Sheens has put the team within striking distance of the premiership suggests to me that it was the correct decision to retain him. No ifs, no buts.
Admittedly I was harsh on Eddie in the thread. Of those who err on the side of negativity he does post the most reasoned analysis. I maintain that it is a pretty quick turnaround from the Souths game. Perhaps that was because of the emotion following the losss. It does make me wonder what the response will be if we play poor football and crash out in straight sets in the finals. Will that be enough to reverse the sentiment you´ve both expressed in this thread?
@Cultured Bogan said:Timmy, you'd have been hard pressed finding anyone on here who wasn't venting their spleen in disappointment after either Souths losses. That doesn't construe as a want for the side to fail, thats simply us demanding issues be resolved.
FTR I think it has been relatively easy for Sheens and the team to exceed expectations this year. As a few said earlier on this year, nothing short of a top four finish would be considered a successful season. The boys have stepped up and to think that anyone here would be actually upset at that is just insane.

I can´t believe I have to point out for the third time that I have not and am not accusing anyone of a desire to see the team fail.
I´m also not really sure how is it easy to exceed expectation if a top 4 finish was the barometer of a successful season? I´d say that´s is a fair degree of pressure.
