The BRET side in the NSW Cup has underperformed in recent weeks and I'm of the opinion that there are a couple of Magpie players who are in better form than Flanagan!.

SHEENS CALLS UP FLANAGAN TO REPLACE ELLIS
21/08/2011 2:28:36 PM

Wests Tigers Head Coach Tim Sheens has named Mark Flanagan to replace the injured Gareth Ellis for today's clash against Parramatta Eels at the Sydney Football Stadium.

Ellis has a groin injury. Flanagan has been listed to start the game in the second-row in the only change to the team.

Parramatta have no changes.

My main concern with this move is that the Tigers now boast a very lightweight backrow which may struggle to put a dent in the Eels forward pack. I hope I'm wrong, but the Eels pack usually grows an extra leg against the Tigers and while Fulton has been in great form of late, if the refs let the Eels lie all over the Tigers in the ruck, then we may see the Tigers struggle to make metres through the middle.

Again, I hope I'm wrong, but the lightweight backrow may not have been the best option and I think Junior Moors may have added more to the Tigers backrow as opposed to Flanagan.

I disagree.

I think the lightweight back row will frustrate the crap out of Parramatta. Obviously losing Gareth is a masisve blow, but that shouldn't be the end of our chances.

It is not over yet…......

Probably going to try and run Parra around.

The problem with that is that the Tigers need to go forward early and lay some sort of platform. If they play side-to-side too early, it usually results in the Tigers self destructing.

not looking all that flash at the moment, deliberate forward pass thrown from Brown, now we just had the ball stripped off us in a 1 on 1 from Hayne
