There is only one way to win these days, and that is to have good players. And you only get good players by circumventing the cap with paper bag incentives and 3rd party payments - which of course, at the bigger clubs are not at arms length in any way whatsoever.
Everyone knows this. It’s a given. The NRL obviously has actual knowledge of this and therefore by allowing it they are simply the crooked administrators of a competition, one which contains strict regulations to prevent such underhanded tactics to ensure a level playing field. If there were a proper investigation I am 💯 positive that certain administrators would come under heavy fire and likely receive criminal records. But there will never be that sort of exposè. It’s like a mafia.
Be that as it may, the fact is that if the Tigers want to compete we have to realise that if we can’t beat them we have to join them.
If I were running the place the first recruitment would be some shrewd operators from Melbourne, Broncos and Roosters.
