Live Game Discussion, VS Roosters - Round 23 *Spoilers*

If we can't get the outside sponsorship on board to compete with our own third party agreements to top up our contract offers its impossible to compete. The big end of towns sponsorship money is with 4 - 5 teams in the comp. The third party system is I'm place so the nrl never have to really police the cap properly, it's a get out so they can turn a blind eye to obvious rorting.
Clubs are not supposed to get involved in 3rd party agreements, it was just a coincidence that two magically fell into the Roosters laps exactly when they needed them to sign Tedesco and Cronk.
It's not sulking it's fact. If it was enforced properly we would be heaps more competitive and wouldn't get pumped by 66 points because we would have more talent in our squad.
Our club has more than its fair share of famous and influential celebrities from the sporting, entertainment and business sectors (Including a billionaire). Drumming up 3rd party agreements should not be that difficult, especially considering that we have a lot of ex players who are active supporters and commentators of the club.

I agree with Corey Parker about the need for Sheens to tell EVERY player they are on notice. Garner and Kelma and anyone else leaving should finish the last two weeks in Reserve grade. If I was Sheens I would say start proving you want to be here for more than just a paypacket. If money is your motivation then leave now, because that attitude just stinks and won't be tolerated.
They're as dejected as us. Plus no offence they shouldn't need to be told this.

It's the management and operations of the club that's embarrassing and the cause of all catastrophe.

Some great stats:
Naden: 2 tackles - 5 missed
To'a: 8 Tackles - 6 missed
Kepaoa: 15 Tackles - 4 missed
Doueihi: 19 Tackles - 4 missed
Madden: 18 Tackles - 7 missed.

Tuilagi missed 6.

That is just embarrassing.

What was the rush to sign the first 3? Was a pommy club chasing them?

I’m not sure if you’re calling that a coincidence sarcastically.
There is only one way to win these days, and that is to have good players. And you only get good players by circumventing the cap with paper bag incentives and 3rd party payments - which of course, at the bigger clubs are not at arms length in any way whatsoever.
Everyone knows this. It’s a given. The NRL obviously has actual knowledge of this and therefore by allowing it they are simply the crooked administrators of a competition, one which contains strict regulations to prevent such underhanded tactics to ensure a level playing field. If there were a proper investigation I am 💯 positive that certain administrators would come under heavy fire and likely receive criminal records. But there will never be that sort of exposè. It’s like a mafia.

Be that as it may, the fact is that if the Tigers want to compete we have to realise that if we can’t beat them we have to join them.
If I were running the place the first recruitment would be some shrewd operators from Melbourne, Broncos and Roosters.

Sheens himself said we are totally self sufficient, we don't have the third party support the big end of town do. I agree with you we have the wealthiest fan base in the comp, it's not transferring to financial support atm. I can't blame them, but as it stands its created a two tier comp.

Was sarcasm, every time a big club needs a 3rd party agreement to lure someone, one ends up in their lap magically.

Idk what we do, hopefully Naden is moved back into the centres (as others have pointed out that's normally his position) and Nofo comes back better. Then the other players continue to work on their development in reserve grade.
Do we try and approach the likes of Ramien, Best, Lomax or whoever ?? Would've loved to have gotten someone like CNK as he also covers fullback.
Still wish we'd landed JAC. Speed is quite the asset to have.
I can’t realistically judge our backs or spine until our forwards are competitive. Full stop.

That doesn't count where tackles not even attempted our centers avoided any collision a few times

We would have more chance of attracting quality players in a free market than under the the conditions of the current salary cap.
It’s time for us to completely ignore the cap , go out spending big and if we gain success then we will supplement good players with paper bags full , happy days can’t beat ‘em join em

Of course Sheens is involved with the selection and style that the team play and i would put the house on him being front and centre if we were going well.Everyone involved in the decisions made by the club this year have a lot to answer for but off course nothing will change except for another scapegoat being thrown to the wolves (Noddy will probably be sacrificed with an apple in his mouth).Meanwhile the real culprits Sheens Pascoe and the board will escape punishment.
The style of footy we play surely isn’t coached Jad , that was rubbish

Got to agree , in fact I think the lending of players should have been garner , tuilagi and anyone else leaving

This is a huge thorne in my side atm, why are we selecting blokes who are leaving, give the young guys a go who are staying so we can try to start their development for next year early.
