People wanted benji gone , then Robbie , Bodene Thompson , Fifita had attitude issues , Paps was too small , Hodgson was “past it”before he left , then there were cries for why we replaced him with McKinnon .
Even the worst buy ever , Adam Blair , had people bemoaning us releasing him.

There’s systematic issues with the team . Brooks is not the issue , and it’s just scapegoating to think he is .

Brooks is a big issue with the team. You can hide behind all the excuses you like but his time is coming to an end. After 151 games it’s Improve or he’s out.

Ok . I don’t think we disagree there though . We need to win . I’m just not going to judge a guy who is doing everything statistically he wasn’t last year , outside of beating teams who are better than us . He needs to be better than last year . He’s been infinitely better . But we haven’t won . And yes we all want to win .
The next 9 games will define our season . You guys hate on him that’s fine . I reckon we will come out of it 7-6 .
If we arnt then , let’s replace him . It will suck to see a guy we invested in go , but it is what it is .
I’m going to stick by the boys . All of them until that happens .

I give him credit when it’s due. The days between are getting longer. He needs a new club, stale as, at the Wests Tigers. It would be better for both the Club and Brooks to have a change of scenery.

I think it’s the fans who are stale more than anything . I think he represents a time of pure mediocrity , and just plane off field and on field trash .

His failure to get repeat sets and kicks out on the full ( Raiders game) outweigh the one or two try assists he gets once in a blue moon ..

I agree . I hate the flashy stuff . I’ve always preferred a Cronk to a benji . One wins games the other wins hearts . I’d rather win games .

If things do not improve the club will make the appropriate call. Personally I hope he kills it but after 151 games he seems to have gone backwards, so my expectation of him improving is very low.

Two of his set ups were simple draw and pass.... I would hope he could do that. Did well to back up but that's not exactly the main thing you want your half doing

His kick to set up a try was very good, unfortunately every other time he tried it he kicked it 10 metres too shallow. He wasn't organising anything at all and 90% of his kicking was bad.

What was inconsistent about brooks today ?
3 try assists , a solid kicking game . He tried to get the ball to the edges heaps , with early ball to AD.
The team moved around fairly well , and we had a thousand so close but so far moments close to the line . Honestly against lesser opposition they’re tries every time .
But against the best teams , they scramble so well , which for me , is Gutho really . He just saves tries all the time . I hate the eels , and he irritates me , but he can save a try .

Seriously , you need to take your the glasses off .
How many half chances did he create down the short side for bad hands , and a lack of crispness leadin to someone die with the ball , or an error .

If Madge says that the game plan was follows better in the second half than , I can guess the game plan was to get the ball to the edges , early .
But once you pass the ball , you can’t catch it , or then pass it for another bloke , all you can do is support . Which by the way his support lead to 2 tries .

The first 20 mins . He was giving early ball to Laurie and AD for bad decisions to be made . That reads like a game plan to me .
And due to the success we had , when the ball went to hand , was the right plan . The issue is a lack of continuity . You want us to win , let them gel together . Stop crying to stop everyone because ... reasons .

Two of his set ups were simple draw and pass.... I would hope he could do that. Did well to back up but that's not exactly the main thing you want your half doing

His kick to set up a try was very good, unfortunately every other time he tried it he kicked it 10 metres too shallow. He wasn't organising anything at all and 90% of his kicking was bad.

He’s supposed to catch the ball , pass the ball , then catch it again ,then magically make that player go through a gap ,or not drop the ball , plus it’s his fault if the centre misses a tackle on the other side of the field , also his fault if he passes to his 6 , who dies with the ball instead of kicking.
Also he has to have every kick be a 40/20, or a repeat set , or cause an error .
It’s ridiculous , and kind of sad .

He is inconsistent, that makes him below average.

It’s the context of the stats that count mate ...
His failure to get repeat sets and kicks out on the full ( Raiders game) outweigh the one or two try assists he gets once in a blue moon ..
The pack has no issues making it down the field it’s what happens when we get there .

I think the role of the ‘pack’ is sometimes underestimated, I’ve always found that your forwards are there to win the battle, which involves immense effort, intimidation and ultimately tiring out the opposition. It’s something tangible you can feel when you’re on the field. As a back, when you’re winning that battle everything seems easier. Not sure how many times Brooksy gets that feeling in games.

There's too many chinks in the armour to solely lay blame or all focus on Brooks.

Though I believe a Storm team including C Smith reigned supreme, Roosters are now unmatched(in the NRL) at breaking down their opponents with Penrith just oozing xfactor and skill. While I don't think Eels or Raiders are as talented or methodical, they do however know how to pick apart teams and grind out wins.
Mostly, these teams have had years to get to where they are and with more time - or other advancements such as recruitment - are only continuing to improve.
So it's silly to expect this level of performance from the team or our playermakers at present, as it's more a matter of how those teams are capable of working as a solid unit when ours still aren't quite working as cohesively as we'd like.
I understand some frustrations but I believe other teams are simply exposing and taking advantage of our glaring weaknesses which should've been addressed Rd 1, 2 or 3.
Over the past two weeks I've seen something from Brooks I haven't seen in his career once and that is to pick himself up and carry on. There's obviously game management issues but his play making isn't as poor as some are stating. It's the whole team's ability to compete effectively which should be prominently assessed. Both halves are struggling at times but they've shown persistence and are only going to get better.

Well said Lauren - finally someone with a decent summation, with no axe to grind and a little objectivity and positivity.
