Yeah but you know what. As good as 05 was, the joy didn’t overrule all the pain I’d felt in the many years of garbage previously.

One of my mates is a huge dragons fan and I was at the 2010 GF with him. Later that night after many beers and analysing the victory he said “is that it?”.

Hate to say it, but ***even if we do eventually get good***. It doesn’t undo all the pain we’ve gone through from nights like tonight.

I’m just giving you my truth. I will say if I had the beauty of hindsight I would say that the journey is the good part. The 05 regular season was heavenly in hindsight. But it was never exp expected to go any further.

You mean if Nofo doesn't hold the ball too long and fire a rocket across Doueihi? If Nofo gives it straight away to Doueihi, D is put 2-1 with the winger, with Walsh coming in cover. He either draws the winger and Laurie goes close to the corner, or he straightens and takes the FB on at the line.

Either way Nofo held it far too long, running sideways, ruining the overlap and then throwing a bullet pass between the two players. Even Brooks, the halfback, whose job it actually is to decide when to pass, got rid of it early, just Nofo happened to be the recipient because somehow he'd made his way in-field.

Our backline is probably the worst in the comp.

1 Laurie - it's essentially his first season in FG and he's trying his best. Has heart and makes some good catches, runs, etc but we can't rely on him for everything. Remember when we had Koroibete and our go to play was pass it to him every time and expect him to do something?

2 Nofo - same old, same old. Has some brilliance in him and can finish a try and carry on with the theatrics, play up to the fans emotions. Still coming off the line, leaving us open and vulnerable and leaking points. Let's face it, he isn't going anywhere and will be first picked but he needs some defense and positioning drilled into him.

3 Douhei - the guy is a star, he didn't look like be wanted to play centre. He hardly touched the ball last night. He will do a job for us but he needs to be involved, whatever his position is. He is simply our best player and we need to work around him. If he future is at centre, that's OK and he won't let us down most of the time but he needs to be a kicking option as well.

4/5 ere's where the problems begin.... BJ is no good, never was. Rarely delivers. Hot headed. Gives away penalties, Jet is washed up. Talau is just a flop and offers nothing. AJ? Can't catch and can't even see properly. Hoffman, Cini, all the reggies guys... are reggies guys...

We need recruitment massively.

Same problems as per usual. Lack of class/consistency in our backs. Forwards getting close to what we need, spine is improving. Just useless wingers and centre's. TBH the season is done - want to see Douiehi back in 6 and Talau right centre, Blore playing on an edge and Stefano back in the side. That group of young'uns can take us places - leave them there for the rest of the year.

TT position is left right out . No football IQ, and slow as a wet weekend . Tell me one game when he hasn,t screwed up ?

Must be said that Brooks, Ofahengaue and Garner all played extremely well. Only ones that can hold their heads high after that piss poor effort.

I would add Twal to that list.

I wish that he would develop an offload.

Rewatch it ..he offloaded tonight ...I kid you not ...2nd half

I did see that offload and he also did one last game, but he has the size and strength to offload a lot more during a game.
Very little second phase play is one of the problems with our attack, if we do get an offload it’s normally to a forward that’s half asleep and just gets tackled near where he receives the ball, instead of to a player with speed or that can send the ball wide.
