Live Game thread *spoilers

So proud of the boys tonight. We’ve wanted a team that plays for each other and for the jersey and I think we’ve finally got it.

The end result was disappointing, but I’m actually not sitting here feeling like we lost because of lack of effort. I still feel like we’ve won and we’ll learn from tonight.

There were a few standout players tonight, but overall we played like a team and didn’t depend on an individual to scrape us through with a win here or there.

Ivan Cleary has done absolute wonders for this team with our commitment to defence. I’m confident our attack will come, the signs are there.

Robbie Rochow plays ninety odd minutes, the last thirty or so of them in the middle, somehow gets his legs to lift himself up once more and takes his place at marker and prepares to attack the inevitable field goal attempt. He is in position just as in front of the play the ball as hundreds of other times this evening. He even waits longer than many others have and the ball clears the ruck before he takes off and duly disrupts the kick.

He did not deserve to have that effort penalised and cost his team the game.

This. What a bizarre call to make after all that had happened and at that point of the game. Integrity unit should look into this.

Boyd just said on 9 that the Broncos were off side many times and a similar penalty could have been awarded. I thought in the circumstances, he did show sportsmanship. He looked most uncomfortable with the way the match was decided.

I prefer a draw system for the initial 25 premiership rounds.

Finals footy extra time should be golden try with mandatory sin bin for any penalty offence, but the attacking team can't take a shot for goal to win the game. It would reduce the chances of a team winning on a b.s from refs or lady luck with field goal attempts.

The Broncos attack was worse than ours… If not for the goal posts and poor reffing we would be in front comfortably.
We were robbed. Stop trying to give it to our team after an effort like that. You know we should be 3-0 atm.

Cleary ballsed up taking the beast off and bringing back an injured Zelezniak or whatever his name is .

Goalkicking is abysmal at best …something needs to change in that dept ...very quickly !

Wouldn't that be interesting?

Ivan was so matter of fact about the decision being wrong, and just moved on. The NRL would look almost draconian if they did that.
