Live game thread v manly *spoilers*

Let's be clear our backline is playing behind a pack that runs out of gas after 50 mins .check the meters run . Also 3 manly tries right thru middle of field .
Our backs suffer from this but the terrible kicking game is on the backs

They are not fit. You can bank at 15 -20 minutes in second half that we open up like the heads. We are a small team to start with , but the most unfit side in the comp.

I doubt if they lack any physical fitness but the mental fitness is another matter.Heads go down and they start not to do the important little things which seperates winners from losers the moment something goes against them.
This is the culture that has to change but once again the club takes the easy option of sacking the coach.Administration at our club is pathetic and nothing will change in the forseeable future except another poor bugger/coach being prepared for slaughter in 2-3 years time

All coaches know we are lazy at marker defence. Cowboys will have similar issues next season.

The whole message from the club was wrong yesterday. They virtually wrote of the year this week, talked about three years time and banged on about not being in any rush to get back two of their better players back to help them get wins - after sacking a coach for not getting results. Every club should be working the rings off to get players back on the field as soon as possible to help their team club and coach out - that should have been the message.
It was a disgusting prep and that was at the hands of Sheens.

Does anyone know who the older gentleman is who was in the coach's box, standing behind (and talking to Noddy - and I am not talking about Robbie or Sheens.
He was the guy who had to cleanup after Sco Mo ‘let himself go’ at McDonalds Engadine - he was viewed as the perfect candidate to cleanup the mess at the Tigers

Your Queen's birthday rant Tragic? Have you checked the honours list for your OAM.

Our club with stable finances, the COE, emphasis on pathways, juniors doing well and possibly the appointment of the most well credentialed coach not yet to coach at NRL level. There is nothing at all to be excited about.

All I want from this year is commitment. To compete in every play.
Yesterday it seemed like if it was too hard then forget it.
If these players were playing for food they would starve.
It simply is not good enough for NRL football.
I saw several players walking yesterday...they may as well keep walking.

Spartan how was it that WE were convinced? Most of us have only seen one premiership…
Just gotta brainwash them with propaganda and plenty of gear I guess.
Poor kids.
Forget premierships. Between the Maggies and WT’s, I’ve only seen my side makes the finals 4 times in over 25 years. For an ex Balmain supporter my age, it’s even less, because I think the last time Balmain made the finals was 1990

Pitiful. We are just suckers for punishment. Failure is in our dna

Parra haven’t won a comp since before I was born. But in the last 35 years, it would have been far better to have their results than ours. They’ve had lots of lean years, some spoons, but they have always been a reoccurring premiership threat. Is that better than winning one premiership in the middle of 30 years of mediocrity?

Cmon Paws if Maguire was still coach after that performance yesterday you would be ripping him a big one. Every positive you have mentioned about the club was all in place last week too - except the poor results of the FG squad - who are still there and still being exposed for their weaknesses just like the other squads in the NRL that are just not.good enough - despite every effort from coaches to prepare them

Having watched KOE Cup, we could do no worse with young Matamua, Atasi James and Junior Tupou in the side, get rid of what's leaving and bring in the future. Whoever brought Gildart to the club was on something, he is terrible and a local club player at best.

100%, it's the first time the club has officially raised the white flag at the half way point of the comp.
Disgraceful leadership.

MT wrote the team had two training sessions with BK. 3.5 years of Maguire's coaching cannot be eradicated with two sessions.

But there is an upside to that performance yesterday. Our attack against the best defence in the NRL looked really good - we were set deep, crisp passing and getting KM outside of his opponent a few times. It was just bad luck that Naden didn't score. Personally, Liddle's performance was very satisfying and reaffirmed he is a quality NRL 9. I'm sure having BK coaching him again was a boost.

Although disappointed with the loss, I am grateful the WTs acted and removed Maguire.
