Thought we were moving towards being a more professional outfit, guess not.
 
It's just silly. Doesn't influence my desire to become a member at all.
They would of been better off compiling a highlights package of Simona streaking away down the sideline, Nofoaluma flying through the air, Sironen barging over the line and Brooks slicing through the line to score.
I'm incredibly surprised by this video given the standard of quality that everything else has been under Mayer.

Yeh I agree to an extent….its pretty corny.

That said - this and most recruitment drives do not encourage members - a winning team does.

Its pretty minor in the big scheme of things

The emphasis should be on an acknowledgement that seasons '12 and '13 were disasters and that '14 is about the new brigade mixing with the current to chase down some form of redemption.

Signed up before even seing the advert to be honest.

I don't mind it. It's something different.

I believe the NRL charge a pretty decent whack for any game footage used in advertisements to boot. At least they did a few years back.

Membership campaigns should always be aimed at the next generation of fans IMHO as well. To that end it isn't too bad
 
Jeez, wests should sign you up stryker. That's actually a lot better than their ad. I thought theirs was okay, a little corny, whatever especially curtis with the handbag. And brooks coulda picked up a bigger dumbell….

The idea with the face paint was alright, but the execution on the TVC itself was terrible.

I like Strykers idea - nice work. Send Mayer your resume mate.
 
look it's a cute ad. The bodypaint and tiger stripes is novel too, so 10 points for the effort.

They are clearly trying to push this whole next generation thing and I think that's a good thing.
No more sheens, no more marshall, no more piss-poor efforts, it's all about the future and a bright future at that.

Jerseys look great too!
 
100% aimed at kids.

As adults our fanbase needs to adopt the methodology of our AFL kin in Mexico.

You become a member at whatever level you can to be part of the growth of the club and to support it whichever way you can. That is what builds generational success

Yeah agreed. Our culture of club support is extremely lacking in RL. The AFL crowd see it is a badge of honour to be a club member. This is one huge area that the NRL must work on.
 
its pretty terrible… looks very amateurish imo - especially the old lady ostensibly just dropping her handbag (i think there was a bomb in it...just saying...) on the footpath and not realising?! wouldve been better if the old bag (he he...) blew up just after he returned it... kind of like he was a hero!
 
Close your eyes and listen to it, the music and voice overs are really quite good. It stirs a lot of emotion.

But the painted faces and video really doesn't fit at all.

Put it on the radio and its a winner. Or just put a highlight reel to it.
